BB was a very good friend of mine for many, many years. He was kind enough to give me VIP backstage access to every show at his club in NYC which I took full advantage of and he’d put me on the guest list whenever he played in my area. On one particular evening, I brought my daughter, Nico, to meet him. He told his bodyguard to seat us right on the side of the stage saying “I want to be able to see these two beautiful women while I play”! He frequently looked over at us and smiled while he played. It’s an evening that I’ll never forget! As I was taking this photo of him and Nico he said to her “Hug me like you mean it sweetheart, I’m not getting any younger “ 😂 I wish that I had thought to have Nico take a photo of me with my dear friend but this suffices to bring back a very, very fond memory.
