Well done to Ava-Santina for pointing out that every pound spent on killing children abroad is a pound not being spent on lifting kids out of poverty here. And was that Jonathan Beale, the BBCs defence correspondent, laughing at her off camera?

🚨WES STREETING HUMILIATED AS TERROR SQUAD EVACUATES HOMES NEAR RAF FAIRFORD OVER IRAN LINK In July Defence Secretary Wes Streeting smirked on breakfast television and dismissed Iranian threats against RAF Fairford as mere sabre rattling. Today five suspects near RAF Fairford were arrested for preparing a terrorist act under the Explosives Act! The bomb squad has swarmed the area, 85 British households have been evacuated from their homes, and counter terror police are actively investigating a direct Iranian connection. While Wes Streeting was busy playing the tough guy on morning television and plotting the surrender of the Chagos Islands, hostile foreign threats were creeping right up to our key military bases. How is that harmless sabre rattling working out for you now, Wes? Labour ministers are dangerously out of their depth, treating national defence like a PR game while ordinary British citizens face bomb evacuations on their own doorsteps. Retweet this immediately to expose Wes Streeting and hold this incompetent government to account. 🇬🇧🔥

🚨ALASTAIR CROOKE: IRAN SHOWED IT CAN STRIKE ISRAEL AS DESIRED ‘Iran had to demonstrate that actually, Israel’s air defence systems are not very effective, and they’re quite capable of landing ballistic missiles, as desired, on target, in Israel, at very short notice.’ The calculation in Washington and Tel Aviv now seems to be that an apocalyptic war on Iran, and the subsequent severe retaliation from Iran, is worth it if Iran is left annihilated like Iraq, Libya, Syria, and many others.

Ukraine F-16 Pilots Rationing Missiles as Russian Attacks Intensify | NEWSMAX2 Ukraine’s American-made F-16 fighter jets are defending the skies against Russian drones and cruise missiles — but a critical shortage of U.S.-made missiles is putting that mission at risk. In an exclusive NEWSMAX interview from Kyiv, Ukrainian F-16 wing commander “Phantom” tells foreign correspondent Shelby Wilder that Ukraine needs additional Patriot and AIM-120 missiles, warning that an aircraft without weapons is a “useless tool.” The shortage has reportedly become so severe that Ukrainian pilots are rationing missiles and, on some missions, relying on their F-16s’ onboard cannons to take down Russian aerial threats.

Earlier today, two Italian 🇮🇹 Eurofighters from Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania, and two Turkish 🇹🇷 F-16 fighter jets from Ämari Air Base, Estonia, on Air Defence missions over the Baltics, scrambled after an unidentified drone entered Latvia’s airspace ✈️ After positive identification, one of the Italian Eurofighters neutralised the potential threat over an unpopulated area. The entire activity was coordinated with NATO’s Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) in Uedem, Germany and Allied Air Command, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. With the transition from Air Policing to Air Defence, NATO can now respond more flexibly to a wider range of threats, using a layered, 360-degree approach across all operational domains 🌐

When you see a tanker show up at the base, and you know there’s an important delivery from Lockheed Martin coming up based on the news… For the last few days we’ve had the tabletop scanner sitting in our bedroom waiting for the call. Yesterday morning we finally heard what we’d been hoping for. RUMMY01 (KC-46) and RETRO61 flight of 3, the Polish F-35s, requesting clearance. We raced to our spot, and thankfully the overcast skies meant location on the field didn’t matter too much. Right as the F-35s departed, just before 8am local time, a light rain started moving in. I still need to edit the photos, but for now here are the takeoff videos. This will probably be the last time I get to see them for a while. Hopefully one day I’ll make it over to Poland for another air show.
