As Assam goes to vote, these families i spoke to. Their homes have been demolished, and the state has said those evicted, cannot vote, despite every single document that proves they are citizens. Stateless in the world’s largest democracy

Houses of both Hindus and Muslims were demolished, but the Hindu families were given land and compensation, while the Muslim families were given nothing. Some villages in Assam’s Goalpara district have now been completely deserted. The houses in Bhatia Para and Dashabhuja villages, which fall under the Mornoi police station area, were ordered to be demolished by the Assam government, stating that they were built illegally. According to the government, both villages were illegally settled on land belonging to the Dahikata Reserve Forest. After losing their homes, the residents are now forced to live along the riverbank

"Palestinians continue being killed. Daily. In bombardments in Gaza. In attacks by settlers and occupation forces in the West Bank. Killed as they sleep, as they tend to their groves, as they head to school, as they sit in their homes. Killed as if their lives never mattered. As if they were expendable. Those who storm their towns, their villages, their homes, their lives, holding weapons and aiming it at them want to hold our people responsible for the death that ensues, their death and the death of those attacking them who should not have been there in the first place. And as if that was not enough, the Israeli Prime Minister’s conclusion is that the answer is more colonization, more dispossession, more displacement, more violence."

District authorities in Assam flattened the homes of 73 Muslim families across five villages on September 7, over allegations that agricultural land was used for residential purposes without official conversion. Evicted residents say they were given only one day’s notice before bulldozers arrived, leaving them unable to salvage their personal belongings. The eviction action followed complaints from a local group accusing migrants from other districts of illegally acquiring land in the area. The Gauhati High Court has flagged the eviction drive as illegal, noting that proper administrative procedures and fair hearings were denied before the homes were destroyed

The homes in the Pacific Palisades that burned down were homes that were passed down from family member to family member This means those homes were on old tax rates from the 70’s or early. Now that the homes burned down and the lots are being sold, all the homes will be subject to the current property tax rates I looked it up and found this is estimated to bring in an additional $400 million dollars in tax revenue per year to Los Angeles Democrats This is billions and billions of dollars in new revenue they wouldn’t have before…. How quickly we have forgotten the civilisational pain of the Kashmiri Hindus! They were shot dead, their women were raped, sliced using a saw while they were still alive, like Girija Tikoo, an entire community driven out of their homes in one night. An entire community forced to leave their homes and live like refugees in their own country, just because they were Hindus! More than three decades later, No justice, because Indian judiciary has no time for Hindu suffering. No return. No space in the national memory. We forgot the Kashmiri Hindus just as we have forgotten the Hindu victims of partition and 71 war! And that silence… is the loudest injustice of all. #KashmiriHindus #EthnicCleansing #NeverForget #SilentExile

It Is Alleged That Some Community Indigenes Sold Plots Of Land Within The Boundaries Of An Old Federal Government School To Buyers Who Were Unaware Of The Dispute. Many People Invested Their Life Savings And Built Homes, Only To Later Learn That There Was An Order To Recover The Land. Please, Before Buying Any Land, Carry Out Proper Due Diligence To Avoid Heartbreaking Situations Like This.” ~ Man Reports 💔
