BC NDP leader David Eby rejects claims that increasing taxes will disincentivize high-earning doctors from coming to BC: "Asking people who have a little bit more to give a little bit more during this challenging time ... is the right thing to do."

He's essentially admitting the province is broke, and thanks to his mismanagement, deep in financial doo-doo.

The challenging time is because you and the BC NDP cannot manage provincial finances properly. Time to go.

Much of the appeal of the NDP, and socialism in general, comes from the fact that it allows people to feel morally superior WITHOUT HAVING TO BEAR THE COSTS OF THEIR POLICIES. It's easy for Eby to advocate "sharing" when SOMEONE ELSE pays the price. 🤣

and this is why he's an idiot. they will leave and it'll be even worse than it is now. the whole reason we're in this situation is because of their stupid vaccine mandates on healthcare workers and their inability to know that when you tax even the rich people even more, they leave. i know it sounds great in principle but they already pay a lot so they're going to choose to go elsewhere. he thinks they're just going to roll over. and i'm not a millionaire by any means.

Eby says taxing people with “a little more” won’t drive doctors out. His plan still taxes the next dollar over $1 million at 57.5% combined, to raise $1 billion against a $13.8 billion deficit. That doesn’t hire a surgeon. Median wait in Canada is already 28.6 weeks. MRI waits run about 18 weeks. Doctors can leave. Patients who can’t still wait.

"Challenging time" = NDP in government too long. #BCNDP 101 is spend, then tax, spend then tax. As the economy contracts, debt explodes and people flee, the NDP have one solution: keep taxing and keep spending. David Eby has run out of chances. He needs to be fired.

It’s not a “little bit more.” Friend of mine does cancer research in Sydney, Australia. He would love to move back to Vancouver but not only is the pay less here, the housing costs more and so does everything else. NDP is not helping attract talent back to BC. #bcpoli
