Braking and steering are much more effective than laying on the horn for accident avoidance.

Those no-merging lane on-ramps cause accidents everywhere they exist, which is mostly in high-traffic city convergences with major arteries. Everywhere I've ever lived, & every medium/large city I've spent time in/around, has multiple accidents every month, if not week,on those.

The problem is that we give a license to anyone who can pass a written driving test, and it shows.

I should have uploaded what almost happened to me yesterday. Driving along and had to swerve to avoid some moron who drifted into the opposite lane while looking down at his phone. I nailed my horn and he never even looked up.
