They definitely change the formula once these bigger companies buy. They have cheaper ways to make products and I would be surprised if they but ingredients that harm our hair. Mielle is another line that I loved but she sold it to P&G and it’s not the same.

I've been growing my locs for over 6 years now. Most of the women who've retwist my locs have told me the same thing and switch to natural oils for a healthy scalp and hair.

Only a few of those haircare lines were black owned. The rest were founded by black people but never owned by black people.

It’s not really an exposure. Lisa Price sold her brand to L’Oréal years ago. Probably about a decade ago at this point. This was known. Once the newer person gets a hold of it, they change the recipe by a smidge because it’s now theirs.
