Becky Quick: "What happens if the Senate changes it and it ends up spending more money than the bill the House just sent over?" Rep. Roy: "We're going to be pretty strong on some red lines ourselves... Don't come back and send us a bill that's going to ratchet... show more

Rep. Roy’s right to draw a line—Senate’s FY 2025 budget could add $5.8T to deficits through 2034, doubling debt growth. The House’s $2.8T net deficit increase was reckless, but the Senate’s version is worse, using “current policy” gimmicks to hide $3.8T in TCJA extensions. Real fiscal responsibility means slashing waste, not playing shell games with taxpayer money. If Congress can’t cut bloated agencies and foreign aid, deficits will keep crushing Americans.

DOGE was Not voted for So it tells me Republicans and Democrats are the same Crooks

This is sad, actual fiscal republicans are becoming rare. Only 2 in the house and Chip is not one of them.

STOP TALKING TOUGH! We all know you’ll cave like you did on this piece of shit bill. “Future cuts” that’ll never happen, DOGE cuts removed, $350B for blue state millionaires. An unbelievable capitulation by the @freedomcaucus while SALTers are celebrating! YOU FAILED

Tax cuts AND spending cuts! This is the way @chiproytx

TRUMP IS SMARTER THAN ANY PERSON IN CONGRESS, NOW OR EVER 💯 DO WHAT TRUMP WANTS OR BE PREPARED TO FACE PRIMARIES 👍😎🤠

I believe you no longer should have a say in budget matters, how can a budget hawk/constitutional conservative vote yes to add 4Trillion to our national debt? Thank you for folding like a cheap beach chair, look forward to your first town hall!

DOGE cuts!!! Or loss the next election!

You already voted to ratchet up the deficit last night.

You raised the debt ceiling 4 trillion dollars. You can shut up now.
