Been following this project with interest. Someone I know commissioned a patchwork tweed from Fred Nieddu. Patchwork styles like this work much better in fabrics like madras or tweed, as they follow in the footsteps of classic American tailoring. IG taillour_ltd

During the mid-20th century, Ivy Style clothiers such as The Andover Shop and Winston Tailors made patchwork garments for their more playful customers. Companies like Ralph Lauren, Bode, and Beams have since riffed on that tradition. IMO, the style only works in specific fabrics.

Mixing Different Materials & Textures Has Always Been Something We Pushed In Footwear & I’ve Became Known For. This Pair Specifically Almost Never Seen A Release Date & This Is One Of Those Projects For Me That I Had To Finish Even If I Lost Money. This Is The First Ever Tweed 004. Each Pair Ended Up Costing 3x What A Normal 004 Would Cost Because So Much Fabric Had To Be Trimmed Down & Cleaned So When A Customer Gets Them They Won’t Shed As Much. We’ve Used Tweed & Boucle Before On More Simple Models But Fusing The 004 Upper Cage Onto Tweed Didn’t Work At First. In fact This Project Took 2 Years. A lot Of “No’s” & I’d Have To Say These Are My Most Meaningful 004 Design Yet. We Are Finally Releasing Them Next Friday March 27th at 12pm EST. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

The Stingray, or cell site simulator, is very much like a Flock camera. It scoops up data from every phone within range, just as Flock cameras do with every car they can see (or detect by other means). And like Flock, the phone interceptors monitor everyone in "hopes" of catching a few bad guys (or so the excuse goes). How the courts don't find this a violation of privacy, I don't know. We will have to work on changing that, but in the meantime, we should be protesting to our municipalities to ban this practice along with Flock cameras.

Try: Pics 1, 2: Wool silk linen blends. These don't exactly look like tweed, but they play a similar role in a spring/ summer wardrobe as tweed in the colder months. If you don't like sheen, then try wool-linen, although that's harder to find. Pics 3, 4: Maison Hellard has a book called Carnet de Voyage. It's a pure linen fabric, but in colors and designs that feel very tweedy. Maison Hellard is the only company I've seen be able to nail this. Most patterned linens are ... questionable ... as linen doesn't have the nap found on woolen. Thus, patterns can be very vivid and untweed-like since the lines are visually hard.
