September 22, 2024 Press Statement Edo Guber: Official PDP Nigeria Backs Gov Fintiri, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Insists Its Candidate, Asue Ighodalo Asue Ighodalo Won the Poll The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stands by the results of the Edo State Governorship election as garnered by its polling agents across the State and echoed by the Chairman of the Edo PDP National Campaign Council, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State which indicate that the PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo clearly won the election. The PDP asserts that the rush, venom and hauling of insults with which the All Progressives Congress (APC) APC Nigeria attacked Governor Fintiri only confirms APC’s violent desperation to cover its manipulations and steal the mandate freely given to Dr. Asue Ighodalo by the people of Edo State as reflected in the genuine votes cast at the Polling Units. As Governor Fintiri presented, the results collated from the Polling Units have Asue Ighodalo in clear lead before the State collation exercise was hijacked by the APC which, in connivance of some unscrupulous INEC and security officials, engaged in blatant alteration and substitution of the genuine results with fabricated figures in favour of the defeated APC candidate. The PDP had on several occasions alerted Nigerians of this sinister plot by the APC which will be firmly resisted as the APC and its candidate Monday Okpebholo were thoroughly defeated in the election. The PDP in the strongest terms cautions the APC and INEC not to announce or declare any result that does not reflect the Will of the people as expressed at the Polling Units. Such will be a recipe for a huge crisis in the State as the people of Edo State will never allow their mandate in illegitimate hands. Our Party again cautions INEC not to lose sight of the violent protest that trailed the criminal attempt by the former Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Hudu Ari to alter the outcome of the 2023 Governorship election in that State which nearly led to the death of some INEC officials. Any attempt to change the results of the Edo State governorship election and allocate victory to a defeated candidate will provoke worse consequences. INEC must therefore do that which is right in the interest of peace, stability and sustenance of Democracy in Nigeria. Signed: Hon. Debo Ologunagba National Publicity Secretary

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY PDP GOVERNORS' FORUM AFTER ITS 2025/4TH MEETING HELD IN IBADAN ON MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2025 The Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum (PDPGF) PDP Governors' Forum held its 2025/4th Meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, and resolved the following; 1.Noting the nationwide speculations about possible merger of political parties, groups and/or associations, the Forum resolved that the Official PDP Nigeria will not join any coalition or merger. However, the PDP as a major opposition party welcomes any party, persons or groups that are willing to join it with a view to wrestling power and enthroning good leadership in 2027. 2.The Forum reiterates its position taken in Asaba on the issue of the National Secretary of the party, but in the wake of the Supreme Court judgment, Forum resolved to recommend that the Deputy National Secretary acts as National Secretary, pending the nomination and ratification of a Substantive Secretary from the South East Zone and NEC respectively at its next meeting. 3.The Forum reasserts our collective determination to avert a rape of our constitutional democracy hence the decision of approaching the Supreme Court to give a clear cut verdict on the interpretation of the provisions of the law on the declaration of State of Emergency in any state. The Forum restates its solidarity with His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on the ordeal into which his state and people are being plunged by the declaration of a state of emergency. And we reiterate our commitment to stand with him till the end. 4. The Forum finds alarming the worsening security situation in the country, as evidenced in parts of the country especially Borno, Plateau, Katsina and Edo States. The Forum calls for review and reordering of priorities and strategies including adopting a bottom up template that guarantees the sub-nationals to constitute an effective line of defence against security breaches. While raising the concerns above, we condemn the recent attacks in Plateau State, and commiserate with the government and people of the state especially those who lost their lives and properties during this unfortunate mishap. 5. The Forum resolves that working in conjunction with the National Working Committee (NWC) and other relevant organs of the party, to hold a NEC Meeting on the 27th of May, 2025; constitute a Zoning Committee that will address all issues relating to zoning of party offices and hold an early convention in August 2025, precisely on the 28th, 29th and 30th in the ancient city of Kano. 6. The Forum equally recommends the constitution of the Zoning and National Convention Committees for ratification by the NWC and NEC as follows; Zoning Committee: Gov. Douye Diri – Chairman; Gov. Dauda Lawal – Vice Chairman and Gov. Caleb Mutfwang – Secretary, while the National Convention Committee has Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri as Chairman; Gov. Ademola Adeleke as Vice Chairman and Gov. If you still support Peter Obi, then in my view you should take a hard look at the facts. Obi repeatedly claims he doesn’t engage in transactional politics, yet he negotiated his way to a presidential ticket. Somehow, that political capital never extended to his closest allies. Not Aisha Yesufu. Not Gbadebo Rhodes‑Vivor. Not a single major figure in his circle secured a meaningful political structure through him. And that leads to the real question: Where are the politicians Peter Obi has mentored in the last decade? Name one. There is no visible political lineage, no pipeline of leaders he has cultivated, no evidence of institutional development around him. Contrast that with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) whose political mentorship record is extensive and well‑documented. Whether one agrees with his politics or not, the outcomes are undeniable. Under his influence, the following individuals rose to national prominence: 1. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo — Former Vice President of Nigeria; previously Tinubu’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. 2. Babajide Sanwo‑Olu — Current Governor of Lagos State. 3. Babatunde Raji Fashola — Former Governor of Lagos State, and former Minister; previously Tinubu’s Chief of Staff. 4. Akinwunmi Ambode — Former Governor of Lagos State; previously Auditor General for Local Governments under Tinubu. 5. Obafemi Hamzat — Current Deputy Governor of Lagos State; served as a commissioner during Tinubu’s administration. APC Gubernatorial Candidate n 2027. 6. Seyi Tinubu — A rising youth‑influence figure within business and political networks. And beyond Lagos, Tinubu’s political influence extends to figures like: 1. Gboyega Oyetola – Former Governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. 2. Dele Alake – Minister of Solid Minerals Development. 3. Lai Mohammed — Former Minister of Information; originally Tinubu’s Chief of Staff. 4. Kayode Fayemi, former Ekiti State Governor and former Minister. 5. Rauf Aregbesola, former Osun State Governor and former Minister. 6. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele — Current Majority Leader of the Senate. So again, the question stands: Where is Peter Obi’s equivalent list? Where are the leaders he has built, empowered, or positioned? Where is the political structure that outlives him? If the answer to this post is silence or abuse, then the comparison speaks for itself. PS: Hear what the current Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima has to say about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
