The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, doesn’t even know if there is still a passenger train service between Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare, and Zimbabwe’s second biggest city, Bulawayo. That is how bad and clueless his Government has become, and when I say these things here on social media, people who don’t live in Zimbabwe think that I am making it up. Imagine the President of your country not knowing if there is a passenger train between your two biggest cities, what does that mean? Sadly Zimbabwe’s main opposition doesn’t have a shadow transport minister to amplify these issues and educate citizens on why public transport is expensive for them because there are no passenger trains. In 1988 a bus ride cost $8 from Harare to Gweru, the train fare was $4 for the same distance, which means passengers could save half the fare when using passenger trains. The majority of the voters don’t know this because they were not yet born when intercity passenger trains were still moving. Citizens don’t understand the relatedness of rail services to the cost of goods in supermarkets, it requires political education which is the job of a shadow minister who would have researched on this particular brief and have the figures on their finger tips. This also applies to goods and services, the cost of a bottle of cooking oil is made more expensive because it has been transported via road instead of rail. On the primary issue, how does a country grow when the President doesn’t even know if there are passenger rail services between cities yet the same president appointed a board of directors at National Railways of Zimbabwe that is drawing perks and cars? The same president has a transport minister and permanent secretary and a whole ministry with directors and managers. I give up I tell you! It is concerning when a country's leadership is disconnected from critical issues like transportation. Lack of awareness about essential public services does indeed hinder progress and public welfare. Engaging citizens and addressing these issues through informed governance is crucial for a nation's development without which nothing will change.

🚨🇷🇺🇨🇳🇮🇷 Footage filmed by Russian state television channel Rossiya 1 in the Rostov region appears to show Russian troops equipped with a previously unusual man-portable air-defense system that they referred to as “Iva.” Visually, the weapon resembles either the Chinese-made QW-18 or its Iranian derivative, the Misagh-2. The QW-18 entered Chinese service in 1992 and is a further development of the Soviet Strela-2 MANPADS concept. It is designed to engage aerial targets at ranges of up to roughly 5,000 meters and altitudes of up to 4,000 meters. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 BASKETBALL The hardest thing for American teams at any level of FIBA competition (besides maybe the rules, and ref disadvantage lol) is taking a set of individuals that haven’t played with eachother before and get them to play with shared energy, effort, and IQ This clip is showing where American Basketball is going, and if you want to be the best of the best - you have to learn how to play within simple offensive concepts - otherwise at some point (college, nba,etc) your individual talent will not be enough WHY THIS CLIP SHOWS SHARED IQ AND IS 🔥🔥 1. (The PG)is patient in the ball screen - simple concept with 2 players guarding him, he passes the ball to the open man (SIMPLE OFFENSIVE PRINCIPLE UNLOCKED) 2. (The Screener) recognizes the double and short rolls to space - but even bigger - they have the ability to PASS! Eyes up be a playmaker! 3. (receiver) recognizes the middle pass (we treat as a middle drive) and baseline cuts for an easy dunk - stars that can play in a team setting increase their winning impact (see Jalen Brunson in finals) If our best players have the ability to play like this in halfcourt settings, we are going to be just fine!! I believe that StoryDiffusion has the potential to be Animatediff's complex motion sister-model! While AD is amazing for granular control, micro-motion and all kinds of abstract motion, it fails at complex realistic motion - walking, human movements, cars, etc. StoryDiffusion seems very promising for this + also has characteristics that will likely make the community very receptive to it and likely to extend its capabilities: 2) Appealing base-model results - likely to get the community excited - feels like significantly better realistic motion than AD 2) Modular - their approach is built with a number of components that can be combined and taken apart - it works by generating consistent images, then animating them together - each of these stages can likely be upgraded, used and influenced in different ways. 3) Flexible - they demonstrate a bunch of different conditioning options 4) Likely easy on RAM - it's based on SD 1.5 + authors mention precautions to reduce RAM consumption 5) Built to plug into the existing ecosystem - e.g. the fact that it works with the SD1.5 ecosystem will give it a huge advantage! While it's very early to say - e.g. the video model hasn't even been released yet! - it does seem very promising. With 9 months of SD1.5/Animatediff-esque progress improving every element of it, I can see an an extremely extended version of this beating Sora + running for a fraction of the compute resources on a consumer GPU. Together with Animatediff to drive the micro-motions and abstract stuff, it could produce be extraordinary/otherworldly/insane/beautiful stuff. This is the first open video model I've been excited about since Animatediff - though cautiously optimistic! Link here:

Hey X, Family, friends, and warriors on here, I need to share something heavy that's been on my heart for only a couple of days. The doctors recently gave me news of cancer and a short 12-month timeline at best. I call BS on that. I feel strong, I'm fighting with everything I have, and I'm positive I'll beat this by God's grace. I'm anxiously waiting on a second opinion from another oncologist right now. Today I broke the news to my kiddos, all but the one overseas. My minors at home (including our new little Spider-Man who's been adjusting with us the past week after coming from a tough situation) and my college boy are now in the know. As a widower with no other living relatives, these boys depend on me, and I've never hidden things from them. We prayed together and we're standing on faith. I've only been carrying this quietly for a couple days, but I can't keep it hidden any longer. So many of you depend on me for the behind-the-scenes help and encouragement, and I have several close friends right here on this platform who have beaten the odds ,true God's warriors. Their testimonies fire me up. I know I'll join them in victory. Scripture I'm standing on: " Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up." (James 5:14-15) Also, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2) Please cover me and my boys in prayer. I'm trusting God for complete healing and many more years of ministry, fatherhood, and service. I don't believe in angels & fairies - but I encountered them myself in Norway. Still shaking my head in disbelief (and relief that angels do exist) At the fag end our Norway Updates drive through - my wife Nidhi & I were hiking to Preikestolen (the world famous #PulpitRock) close to the city of #Stavanger. It's a must do if you are in Norway - though it's not the easiest of hikes, especially if it has rained so much, making the terrain slippery. We took the chance, reached Pulpit Rock and enjoyed some amazing fjord views - on our way back however Nidhi's leg slipped and she seriously sprained / fractured her ankle. About 4 kilometres from civilisation, biting cold winds, rain fast approaching and unable to move - I was at my wits end on what to do next. However fellow hikers asked me to call 113 - assuring me that help will reach us. Really? With no other option - I called the emergency number with a lot of skepticism, but what happened next...showed me Norway's finest. Within minutes the responders had used my phone to pin my location and assured me help was on the way. In less than an hour - an ARMY of mountain rescuers - accompanied by doctors were with us. They examined Nidhi - put her leg in a vacuum bag - opened up a portable stretcher - and 6 super-humans carted Nidhi all the way to the base camp. All with a smile. Wait it gets better. While Nidhi & I were worried if we could even afford this rescue - we came to know that these angels were from the Norwegian People’s Aid Norsk Folkehjelp - an NGO that offers Rescue Service and First Aid to those in need - for free. Wait it gets even better. These rescuers were not part of any paid / professional team that was at the park / trail - they were normal working Norwegians who just land up to help when the need arises. One of the rescuers was a surveyor / another who has been doing this for 15 years - works in the petroleum industry! For a nation that spends so much time in rain / darkness - I came to understand why Norway is one of the happiest nations on the planet. I am at a loss of words - but I am deeply thankful & in awe of Norwegians & Norwegian People’s Aid. You can check out their work on Instagram - Facebook -

I cannot comprehend what happened today. I literally cannot wrap my brain around the fact that you’re no longer here. Your last text to me was on Friday night, making a joke about the student driver sticker on my car as my son learns to drive. I had no idea that would be our last laugh together. Matt was so much more than a coworker—he was a close friend for years. Back when I did traffic at WISH-TV, we were constantly texting, bonding over how much we hated getting up early, keeping up with the morning commutes, and building a friendship that only grew deeper over time. We talked about everything: our struggles, spirituality, fitness, and relationships. He became like a brother to me. I will forever cherish our late-night coffee meetups just to talk about life. Matt was actually the one who brought me to WIBC. He told me, “Johnette, these people are amazing and you have to come work here.” By the grace of God, it all worked out. I cannot comprehend what happened today. I literally cannot wrap my brain around the fact that you’re no longer here. Your last text to me was on Friday night, making a joke about the student driver sticker on my car as my son learns to drive. I had no idea that would be our last laugh together. As far as I can tell the situation is this: Casey Putsch ran a very solid campaign for the Republican primary to be governor of Ohio, against the GOP establishment Indian Vivek Ramaswamy , who had the PUBLIC backing of Trump, and Vance, and multiple billionaires funding him. Could his campaign have been run tighter? Had more “viral” moments a lá James Fishback ? Raised more money? Better execution? Sure. But it also could have used a LOT more help. Self organisation is for LAZY coaches! Elite coaches should verbalise all of the nuances of detail to maximise the performance of their athletes. Video analysis should provide you with all of the granular data so that you can make minute analysis and provide the most specific cues for each step in the sprint. 🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥 At the end of last the summer I reached to Frans Bosch to bug him on all things sprinting. It’s been 3/4 years since we had spoken last so it was very refreshing to talk about what I had been witnessing whilst analysing footballers. Somethings that I learnt from him over a decade ago and have consistently used to maximise speed skills. 1) “take the arms out of the running cycle and the body will need to self organise in order to avoid over rotation and thus keep the abdominals in the sweet spot” 2) “Run bouncy with excellent co contractions between hip, knee and ankle will keep the hamstring in the sweet spot, reducing strain” 3) “Stabilise running technique by clarifying how to PROJECT , SWITCH AND REACT (PSR) over increasing amounts of velocity, vectors and variations of instability” 🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬 I took the concept of PSR directly from the heuristics of dpfaff 15 years ago. A man who gives and gives and gives and gives some more. Dan let me bug him for months, write my thesis on him, then I got to stalk him daily for 3 years in the build up to the 2012 Olympics. Coaching the PSR pillers became a very helpful way of reducing the clutter of technical jargon and degrees of freedom. It focused my coaching eye and created a shared language for athletes, therapists and non technical coaches. ⚽️🏉🏈🏟️🥅🎾🏏🏐🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏾🏃🏽‍♂️ 3 years ago I started working with Ryan Grubbs before he joined the NFL. Ryan and I put our heads together to create a system that would reduce the friction for coaches wanting to coach more efficient movement . We downloaded our brains in to a range of decision trees and algorithms and then began to support teams through our joint venture Speed Solutions We provide a unique macroscopic analysis of intense game actions (acceleration, deceleration , change of direction and max velocity). All data is visualised and compared athletes of a similar level within our data base. We have stood on the shoulders of great academic work of Ryu Nagahara Helen Bayne James Wild and Ken Clark, PhD and then layered in our experiences coaching the best athletes and players from around the world. 🤳🎥👾💻🖥️🧑‍💻📉📊📈 vuemotion provide us with the data and Speed Solutions provides us with the insight. ⚾️ It is no secret that elbow injuries, specifically UCL injuries, have been on a rise in recent years ➡️ The reason for this is so multi-factorial that it is impossible to pinpoint any 1 reason for an injury 💪 With the constant improvement in the development of pitchers, both skill side and S&C, we are seeing an increase in velocity across all levels of baseball 🎟This is obviously a Great thing for Punching Tickets but also leads to more forces being passed through the medial elbow 🔥There are really 3 proactive actions we actions we can take to counteract this: 1) Address pitching mechanics if there are deficiencies 2) Appropriately manage chronic/acute AND Total workloads 3) Increase the capacity and stress the elbow can handle 🔥 We will specifically dive in to the 3rd component of this in this thread. In short, the answer is simple, GET STRONG FOREARMS 3 WAYS VALGUS FORCE IS DISPERSED ✅ Radiocapitellar Joint Compression When a valgus stress is applied to the elbow, it is attempting to open up or gap the medial (inside) portion of the elbow. This is also the Orthopedic Test for a UCL injury. While this force is trying to gap the medial portion of the elbow, it is also compressing the lateral side. When the radius and lateral humerus compress, this acts as a stopping point for the elbow going into that valgus motion ✅ Forearm Musculature In addition to the UCL on the medial side of the elbow, there is also a group of forearm muscles that span that area and attach to the same portion of the elbow, the medial epicondyle. These muscles include: Pronator Teres, Flexor Carpi Ulnaris, Flexor Carpi Radialis, Flexor Digitorum Superfiscialis, and the Palmaris Longus. With that specific attachment to the medial epicondyle and their respective distal attachments, these do a great job of accepting the valgus force and protecting the UCL. There is some research that states FCU does the best job of the muscles listed, but we believe the best action is to strengthen all of them. The best ways to attack this is with movements including: finger flexion, wrist flexion, Ulnar deviation (moving pinky towards medial elbow), and Pronation of the forearm ✅ Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) What doesn’t get absorbed by the first two structures is placed on the UCL. Previous research has shown that a UCL with no other structures involved is able to withstand ~35 nm of force before failure The Problem is: Every Pitch produces far more than 35nm of Valgus Stress. This shows us just how important the other 2 mechanisms are! * Exercises in the videos should be a complement to your entire S&C Program and is not designed to replace it
