Been, um, refreshing seeing so many people start questioning the NBA’s 65-game rule for All-NBA after people have been telling me I’m crazy for the past three years. This was never a good solution for the load management issue; All-NBA teams are designed to mark for history who are... show more

All-NBA teams are about who had a better SEASON, not who is a better PLAYER 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ nobody cares how “good” u are if u get hurt and spend half the season on the shelf. If u miss hella games, u objectively didn’t have a good season

Hey @grok how many times did Michael Jordan play less than 65 games in a season in his career? Specifically when he made an All-NBA first team? And how ridiculous does this make her argument here look?

Can't sit out a 3rd of the season and beg for All NBA. Part of the reason those guys look like All NBA talent is they are sitting and resting up for big games. That's not fair to the guys that are in the marathon every day and not taking an Uber to the finish line.

They are pussies Jordan didn't take nights off

I understand your point, BUT… I completely disagree 👎 Instead of looking at a hard number as a punishment for being injured, look at it as… How many games should an MVP, DPOY, ROY, All NBA player realistically play in a season? There IS a reasonable answer to that question.

Voting for All NBA teams should be split between media, player’s and executives…

Availability is an important ability. Curry or LBJ playing 40 games (for example) isn’t worthy of all NBA even though they are the best players.

If you can't come to work, you can't be an All-Star. In a team sport, that counts for something. It's also an entertainment league where people pay money to be entertained. The NBA has it right: play, or the accolades go to others who do. Mega-rich players missing out on bonuses—cry me a river!

This woman is openly pushing Jalen Williams all nba honors despite not even remotely derserving it. Kinda wild.

The 65-game rule was supposed to stop load management, but now it's punishing guys who get LEGIT injuries. Jokic, Giannis, Wemby all potentially out of All-NBA history books? NBA gotta fix this before it breaks awards forever. Who's with me? 🔥

I like the rule but I kind of agree. I think availability was already considered in season awards. I think the bigger mistake was made by the NBAPA tying future pay to season awards. Coupled with the minimum game rule, this isn’t good for injuries.

I don't agree with saying it's not working after just a 2 year sample size. But I always thought 65gm/20min minimum was too much. I think 60gm/15min minimum is fair. Pace of play is the big problem for me. If they don't want to shorten the season, then don't add more possessions

Maybe teams should draft less athletic guy that get hurt less. Changing what success is, that goofy. The 65 games is fair. I’ll say Jordan era teams would win vs today simply cuz they can play a full season. Sadly this will be LeBrons legacy

The best ability is availability

Shorten the season

They are pussies. Larry Bird laid on a floor during time outs and played almost 80 games with a horrendous back problem. The NBA is the worst of all the pro sports leagues. Fuck them.

I would change the minimum # of games from 65 to 75. The salary, travel, hotels, nutrition, support system, is 2nd to none and yet, the NBA is the only league where players sit out when healthy. Not NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, or whatever else.

The real solution? Reduce the number of games to 65-70. That fixes this, load management, soft tissue epidemics, segababas, and a whole host of other illogical scheduling stupidity.

55 Games is 2/3rds of the season. That's a more realistic number. Also make appearances count if they've played at least 12 minutes, equal to 1 qtr instead of current 20 mins. #TheMiBTWiB

they said 2017 warriors were unfair but kd and steph wasnt 1st team. Giannis and Wemby injured earlier and nobody said nothing. Even Luka and Steph who are playing like 1st team was out for a while and nobody said nothing. When Jokic got injured suddenly everybody crying 😂😂😂

The rule meant to reduce load management is forcing players to play hurt. When stars are grinding for 65 instead of resting strategically, performance suffers but lines don't adjust.

Rachel is spot on. 65 as the hard number is ridiculous. Missing time should matter in voting but that’s subjective to the voter if it matters more or not. It still comes down to how much impact the had on the season

Respectfully, you have to be available to receive the prestigious end of year awards It’s not a popularity contest or a judgement in per game numbers We have to judge a full season of impact on success for the team combined with good numbers Can’t play 55 of 82 and win MVP

The purpose of the 65 game rule was to help owners get out of paying superstars the super max and save money.

The League doesn’t care if you show up. Fans or players. The bag is secured with TV and overseas money. They are telling you the fans they don’t care….stop funding this garbage. It’s not good basketball or fun to watch.

Y’all wanna put all these new players in the top 10 then they actually have to play.

Judges farkd it up when you gave it to Embiid. As fans we lost trust in all the judges’

How can you be All-NBA and only play 50 games? That means there are 32 games where your absence is really hurting your team. All NBA teams should be for guys who are on the court.

Now that it applies to anyone other than Embiid…..

Imagine wanting the players to actually be on the court less than 65 games

“Make your own guys play” I like that but also it’s weird that you have to give guys incentives to do their jobs. The nba player is so far removed from reality that they’re the ones harming their game most and they dgaf. Being hurt is one thing but load management is another!

this argument doesn't make sense it has always been the case if you miss time hurt you tend to not get season awards especially if you miss a lot of playing time in every sport not just the NBA

WRONG awards are a huge effect of contracts and players money, the only way to curb load management was to hit the players where it hurts and they care so they don’t risk losing millions to an injury, by resting early in the year, if they are healthy they play

How about if you don't play a certain amount of regular season games you are ineligible to play in the postseason?
