Bees kill off their queen 😳

For those who have no idea about this The queen is responsible for laying eggs and producing pheromones that keep the colony cohesive and productive. However, sometimes the workers decide to kill their queen and replace her with a new one This can happen for various reasons, such as: *The queen is too old or weak to lay enough eggs to maintain the colony’s population. *The queen’s pheromones have diminished and the workers no longer recognize her as their leader. *The queen has produced defective or diseased brood that threatens the colony’s health. *The colony is under stress from external factors such as predators, parasites, or lack of food *The queen is damaged or injured by accident or by the beekeeper The workers kill the queen by a process known as balling, where they cluster tightly around the queen and generate heat to raise her body temperature until she dies. This is not a form of stinging, but rather a form of suffocation. The workers then raise a new queen from one of the existing eggs or larvae in the hive. The new queen will emerge after about 16 days and will mate with several drones (male bees) to ensure genetic diversity. The new queen will then take over the role of laying eggs and producing pheromones for the colony
