Sitting only a few feet away from Elder Gérald Caussé in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Friday, Nov. 7, was a grand piano. Following his remarks that morning, he mentioned his love again of his parents for their decision to become pioneers and for their perseverance that shined as an example to him. He paired their example with that of the pioneers of the Church and expressed his admiration for them. Elder Caussé sat down at the piano and began to play a hymn, first with a single finger, then both hands, then with his whole heart with the high standard that only a classically trained pianist can exhibit.

One of the the most influential hard-bop and modal musicians, Shorter was also a respected composer and a pioneer of jazz-rock fusion music. After reaching wide prominence in the late 1950s as a member of, and eventually primary composer for, Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Shorter moved on to join Miles Davis’s “Second Great Quintet,” and from there he co-founded the jazz fusion band Weather Report. Many of his compositions have become jazz standards and his output has earned worldwide recognition, critical praise and various commendations. He has recorded over 20 albums as a bandleader. got to be part of something really special with this one. almost 1.5 years in the making, MARTIN GARRIX and Arijit Singh dropped their first collab last week, the opening track from a 4-track EP. it all started back in 2023 when arijit mentioned on _TheMusicPodcast_ that he’d love to work with martijn. 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗺𝘇 sent me the clip, we passed it along to martijn and he immediately showed love. the teams connected, and a few months later they were in amsterdam jamming and building something incredible. forever thankful to martin for being so kind and involved from day one. he didn’t just run with it, he kept us in the loop throughout. from sharing early demos and hopping on calls to catch up, to playing us versions in person during his short india visits and asking for feedback, he truly made us feel part of the journey. grateful to see it all come to life like this. surreal ❤️

He trained at the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he honed his craft, showing he was born to entertain. The "gangster" image? That was more about the industry and the media pushing a narrative than who Tupac really was at heart. Tupac was an artist first, using his voice and talent to speak for the people, share their pain, and make you feel something. He wasn’t about the gangster life—he was about the art and the message.

For 47 years now, he has dedicated his life to Ugandan theatre, touching countless lives through his work as an actor and playwright. His passion for the craft remains as inspiring today as it was when he began his journey in 1979. This weekend, we have a chance to celebrate and support a living legend. Aloysius Matovu and his team will be performing at the National Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, with two shows each day, one at 2:30 PM and another at 7:00 PM. The performances will celebrate mothers and the special place they hold in our lives. If you can, please make time and attend.
