Quebec drafted him anyway. When his name was called, Lindros refused to put on the Nordiques jersey, holding it over his shoulder instead. He sat out for a full year rather than sign. In 1992, the standoff ended with one of the biggest trades in NHL history. Quebec sent Lindros to Philadelphia for a massive package that included Peter Forsberg, Mike Ricci, Ron Hextall, and two 1st-round picks. Ironically, that trade helped build the franchise that became the Colorado Avalanche, winning Stanley Cups in 1996 and 2001. 🏒🥅
