Whenever you hear about somebody inventing Rock N Roll, notice that they are almost always playing an electric guitar. Seems like the guy who invented the electric guitar invented Rock N Roll as much as anybody else. That said...Sister Rosetta was definitely rockin

whoa have you heard this song?

Without her there's no Chuck Berry.

Absolutely stunning!! She rocks that Gibson SG with effortless flair.

Sister Rosetta didn’t just play rock ‘n’ roll—she birthed it, electrified it, and set the whole damn thing on fire before the world even knew what hit them. Elvis, Hendrix, Clapton? They drank from her well. Give the woman her crown. #Gonzo

this is gospel music actually

If Elvis is the “King of Rock and Roll”, I’m the Queen of England

Man, she POURED it on!

every time ive seen this vid over the years im always impressed by setting up a stage on a train platform like that

she's awesome. video's from 1964 though, pretty sure they'd been calling it rock n' roll for a little bit.
