Whenever you hear about somebody inventing Rock N Roll, notice that they are almost always playing an electric guitar. Seems like the guy who invented the electric guitar invented Rock N Roll as much as anybody else. That said...Sister Rosetta was definitely rockin

In the late 1960s, when she was asked about the then-current state of music, Sister Rosetta said, “Oh, these kids and rock and roll — that is just sped up rhythm and blues. I've been doing that forever.”
