Yes 🔥

old machines, new energy. full track: 🎧

🧐

Hi @renoise 💜 I love you

omg! a lot of music I made with this!

The jump from FM based soundchips (#ZXSpectrum/#C64 etc) to digital audio (#Amiga) was phenomenal! In 1995 I released a digital soundcard for the #SAMCoupe (6 channels, surround outputs). 30 years on I still make it. Listening to .mod in surround is so immersive!

Protracker 🔥🔥🔥🔥

It never left.

Such a pain to program too. I remember using ScreamTracker and ImpulseTracker on a PC in MS-DOS.

yeah, it can feel like a pain at first, but once you get hold of it, it’s actually really fast and super fun!

I made some wild stuff. My favorite thing to do was play the same sample in two channels but offset it by a few clicks so you get this weird out-of-phase sound to the sample, and then bring it back into sync by offsetting the other direction.

I wish I have saved my music collection I have created…

Man, lost my tapes and cds with my early tunes too, I know hiw it feels 😪

I started on dos/impulse tracker… lots of memories.

Shout out to ScreamTracker on the PC! Thanks for paving the way Amiga users!

Excuse me??! Have you ever heard of Karsten Obarski? 🤔 We already had samples while you were still rocking the PC beeper 😂

That's exactly why I said "Thanks for paving the way Amiga users!" lol

Ah my bad! 😅 No idea why I read it as “for” after “way”. All good brother 🤝

Made a track on Modplug Tracker with a friend in 2025. It sure has its limits but you actually start instead of browsing through 100s of VSTs and presets.

💯🎯

I'm a simple man, I see a Tracker on my TL and I like and repost...

That's the way! Thanks for spreading the chiptune love 🤝

I'm a DnB guy, but Trackers can be used for any genre. Calvin Harris made his "I Made Disco" album using OctaMED on an Amiga.

This is where I started, and I think it was that exact version too :) It took me a very long time to get used to a DAW after using trackers for years

I went to music school as a kid, so I only knew sheet notation. I once found the Music Shop on the C64. This is where I started. It was very limited, but I loved making my own stuff!

That's awesome :D I had Musicbox on the Speccy and although I made a few things with it I didn't really know what I was doing yet. I was just amazed it could play 2 simultaneous notes! First time I saw MED I knew I had to get an Amiga.

MODPlug Tracker was my jam, but I have respect for the DOS trackers that came before it. I really miss tracker/mod (and midi) music. MP3 was great when it became popular, but I liked playing with the individual tracks and instruments.

Octamed is probably still the best tracker ever mad, it had samples, synth and midi as wel as 8 tracks at the same time.

15+ years ago I exported my favorite music modules into MP3 and I'll play them now and then

The Golden Era !

FACT 💯

Possibly the original DAW, if a bit limited by the tech of the time.

This was my first DAW #C64

OMG I wrote a whole album on this at like age 12 or something

I bought a sampler that connected to my Amiga 500. Had great fun making tunes with that. Still got it all.

.MOD

Still is for @renoise users :-) (incredible DAW!)

@renoise Renoise 💙

🤲

PAULA

Amiga made the euro techno scene! Cotton-Eyed Joe was made by cracker/demo group Rednex.

Noisetracker on the Ataris ST ❤️

Fuck yeah!

they had some amigas in display on Myers merlbourne.. always facinating me.. that was top technology while other computers only had the banner mania on display

I used Octamed with an AKAI sampler

Nice

Now THIS is where I started my music making with. Amiga 600 in fact. All the nostalgia is still there. ✨🎶🔥🕹️🇫🇮 I was part of the Assembly music compos a couple of times as well here in Finland.

Is that OctaMED? I have made a bunch of tunes on ProTracker. Even spinned some live and people loved them. Good times 😆 I started on C64 though. While everyone was programming games and stuff - most of my programs were just music.

The only time I had success with a tracker was for Nintendo DS 10+ years ago.
