Avon's respect for Cutty always makes me tear up. I always think it's that Avon is resigned to the fact that he can never get out but allows Cutty to have that dream that he can't have.

Thought he was bout to send him home empty handed. Avon was probably my favourite character in that show, his expressions, his lines, his persona. Its tough, I'll probably choose someone else in next watch through, but he on The Wire Mt Rushmore for sure

My dad used to play basketball with Wood Harris and his brother Steve Harris, also an actor, at the NYU gym during those days. Wood Harris could ball.

Steve was the very first guest star to appear on screen during the pilot episode of Homicide: Life On The Street.

Avon was probably the only person in this show that kept his morals/beliefs throughout the ENTIRETY of the show and didn’t switch it a single time.

What an incredibly written and acted scene. We take cats for granted because they been grrindin at it for so long. Chad and Wood are monsters with this acting thing, and Big G held his own in damn near every scene.
