As someone who was there since vanilla, this is painful to watch… painful because of how accurate it is. However, if you’re like me, don’t despair. Beyond the desert of exile from the western territories lie the uncorrupted lands of eastern developers. Go there and gather your strength among the blood, the martial arts and the waifus. @Mangalawyer When I left Blizzard more than 1/2 my coworkers did not play games outside of Overwatch/Frotnite/Candy Crush and/or considered the term “gamer” as toxic. As King Terenas Menethil II said to Arthas, “No king lives forever.”

Tone has shifted in many fantasy games due to fear of offending people or covering uncomfortable topics. That spilled over into narratives and avatars. Graphic processing and length increased, but narrative immersion diminished. We need to take it back.

So why do some women feel the need to interfere with men’s games and bring the logic and standards from women’s games into them? WoW had a significant impact on the demise of the game development industry, very astute to see that thread, kudos! For me though, it was because WoW flipped games from challenging to accessible, which dumbed down the whole approach once it proved to worked.

100% ruined world of Warcraft, it’s an abomination.
