The story is set in Los Angeles and follows two estranged siblings: Ellie, a television producer, and her nerdy high school brother, Jimmy. One night, while driving on Mulholland Drive, they swerve to avoid an animal and crash into another car. When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We’d have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise. To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream. This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. A year ago today, I went home. Little did I know I would venture to the slums of Mumbai, where some of my family originated from generations ago. It’s a story I share with some who won the lottery of being raised with something. My Hindi left a little to be desired but I was honored to help bring education with Hi5India and the global language of basketball to 4000 kids along with this very special one. As we celebrate a coming New Year, important to look back with this never before seen BTS on my trip home to India. Hope it’s one many connect to in their hearts.

In my first 4 minutes on the streets of Vancouver today, I was spat at by one man, and then attacked by this man pretending to be a woman. My tripod is broken, my sunglasses are broken, I have a bump on my head and a scratch on my face, but my spirit is never broken. I have another tripod in the car which I am retrieving right now, and I will be back on the street in a few minutes. Right before this happened, he came up to my equipment with my back turned and turned off my recording. This video begins moments after as I call for him to come have a conversation. He was only interested in violence. 6’4, 260, throwing punches. Not very ladylike. Keep going guys. Be as violent as you want. It does nothing to me and only reveals to the world who you really are. I will keep fighting for kids, with my words, and literally if need be. There is no such thing as a transgender child! They’re called girls and boys, and they’re perfect just as they are!
