I never understood this argument. God doesn’t damn anyone. YOU chose to turn away from him and your choices have consequences. How are you gonna turn your back on God, then get pissy as if he is the one who turned his back on you?

He set the standard for what is a sin and created the punishment for commiting it. He curses you to eternal damnation for the pettiest things. Thats worse than a mob boss asking for protection money except in this case, its protection from himself.

What kind of God (what kind of “Father,” what kind of parent) would punish his children for eternity simply because they failed to believe he was real, while deliberately remaining hidden from them throughout their entire lives? If a human parent concealed himself from his child, gave the child only conflicting stories and secondhand claims about his existence, and then tortured that child forever for failing to believe the right version of those claims, we would not call that love, justice, or fatherhood. So why does calling the parent “God” suddenly make the same logic righteous? I think there’s really only two categories you can put people in who spout and push this as truth. You are either brainwashed and haven’t ever really seriously questioned the logic of these absurd claims or you would have to be an incredibly cruel person who thinks punishing your children for ETERNITY is ok.
