On the other, farmers in AAP-ruled Punjab are supporting ethanol because it creates value from surplus and otherwise wasted grains, opening up an additional source of income. If ethanol is helping farmers earn more while strengthening India’s energy security and reducing dependence on imported crude, why is Kejriwal opposing a policy that benefits both agriculture and the nation? He should decide whether he stands with political opportunism or with Punjab’s farmers.
