@MrBlanding Wages for Drs that save lives? No. Tax cuts for the wealthy? Yes. Remember that the Drs will pay taxes on their pay, but the wealthy #TaxParasites will stash the money off-shore, leading to even more cuts. For Tories, even if it cost the lives of the poor, greed is everything.

@zidanesboots Tax avoidance costs us £120 billion a year - how about we make them pay their fair share of tax I'd start with: - no 'non-doms' in UK politics or media - only people certified/audited as 100% tax compliant with no tax debts allowed into local & national elections

Paying junior doctors would cost £2 billion. Cutting inheritance tax would cost £8 billion. I vote we keep inheritance tax, pay junior doctors what they deserve and use the remaining £6 billion to repair schools, build really affordable housing, repair the care system etc.

I just told the Health Secretary that restoring the pay of Junior Doctors is totally affordable. Restoring their pay would cost around £1 billion per year. That's less than half the cost of the giveaway handed to the super-rich through the non-dom tax avoidance scheme.

Well Tucker I’m glad you asked since you can’t engage in basic journalism anymore. Aside from the fact that more than 75% of the money that we give Israel, they have to spend with our military in industrial complex which provides 20,000 jobs to American families this is the estimated cost we would have to pay if we didn’t have an MOU with them for the security services we need in the Middle East. What would cost the U.S. to replace what Israel provides: ∙Intelligence replication: $10-30+ billion/year (wildly uncertain) ∙Combat data and weapons testing: $2-5 billion/year ∙Avoided troop deployments and basing costs: $5-10 billion/year ∙Missile defense co-development savings: $2-4 billion/year amortized ∙Cybersecurity and counter-terrorism cooperation: $1-3 billion/year Again, these are just rough estimates because we actually have no idea how much it would cost because we depend on them for so much of this stuff.

I welcome and am accepting the recommendations of the pay review body in full which means doctors, consultants & senior NHS staff will get a 6% pay rise. Junior doctors will also get an extra £1,250 meaning those working in their 1st year will receive a 10.3% pay increase. 1/2

Our tax system is rigged, people with money pay half the rate of tax of people with jobs. A wealth tax would be a start and it's worth pointing out, it would only affect 20,000 people out of 60 million, and they (we) would only pay 2% on anything over 10 million pounds. It would generate £24 billion a year - which could fund so many things we badly need.

A 2% tax on wealth would only (mildly) affect 20,000 people but would generate £24bn each year that we can spend on fixing the country. End child poverty, improve the NHS, fix our schools and all that good stuff.

🚨 HMRC took £90.4 BILLION more from taxpayers last year. That comes directly from the National Audit Office. In just one year, HMRC collected 10.3% more tax - an extra £90.4 billion! Thanks in part to frozen tax thresholds, 1.1 million more people were dragged into paying Income Tax. So HMRC clearly has no problem taking more money from you. What it does have, is a problem passing audit. For the 24th year in a row, auditors were unable to give HMRC a completely clean audit because they found significant levels of fraud and error. And now Andy Burnham is reportedly considering another £38 billion of tax rises. How about before taking another penny from taxpayers… …they stop the fraud and error and prove they can properly manage the record amounts we’re already paying?
