I woke up to the realization that this did in fact happen. I keep watching this and every time he turns that puzzle around it keeps being me. I can't find the words, and I've tried, to explain what I experienced in that moment. I was thinking that it sounds like he's describing me, but I was like there's no way that's the case. And then there came a point where my eyes welled up with tears and I started to think that this might really be me. I knew that I didn't apply, I know that I'm described as wholesome, and I knew that I had sent out a tweet, but I was still thinking there's no way that he is paying attention to me. Meiselas: Donald Trump's decision making tree is the dumbest worst that there is. This is why he bankrupts everything he freaking touches. Go look at his past. The guy doesn't build shit. He bankrupts everything over and over again. You couldn't script a worse way to play this out. If you think the lesson to be learned is another air campaign, if you think that was the lesson, that you do just an air campaign and you're going to do Iranian regime change, or they're going to say, "Oh my God, they're attacking us again by air. Donald, what do you want? What do you want in the deal, man? Oh, now we're going to negotiate with—" No, there's no chance of a deal right now.
