Even a Fox News guest acknowledges that America blames Republicans for the shutdown, and says Republicans need to do a better job shifting the blame: “The problem is that when you ask people who is responsible for the shutdown, 53% say ‘Republicans.’ So Republicans have done an awfully poor job of trying to shift the blame to the Democrats. And unless Republicans are successful in shifting that blame, then the Democrats are going to sit here doing the unthinkable which is to actually benefit from the shutdown.”

Doesn’t Gavin Newsom have a major point here? Republicans are literally giving more rights to fathers who are fathers because they raped someone than to families who want to try and have children through IVF. I want to know if there are actually any Republicans out there who think that the law in Alabama, which basically says that killing an embryo is killing a child is actually good for families? I also want to know if there are any Republicans who actually think that women who are raped should be forced to give birth to the rapist’s child.
