Chloe Swarbrick- “We really didn’t want this to get into the public sphere.” If it hadn’t been for the efforts of real media on X and at The Centrist, it probably wouldn’t have. The Greens were forced to hold a presser on MP Benjamin Doyle today. Where insipid co-leader Swarbrick not only tried desperately to deflect from the real issue, but arrogantly lectured the legacy media on how to report it. Has there ever been a crisis within the Greens that they haven’t tried to turn around and make themselves the victim? As they did today with absurd allegations of death threats against Benjamin Doyle and his child. They also cravenly attempted to smear Destiny Church and Winston Peters with allegations of megaphoning these mythical threats. Benjamin Doyle had a social media account with an obscene name related to sex with children. When it became public knowledge, he deleted many of the comments and pictures that had been posted. Why do this if he had nothing to hide? The question now is will legacy media report on this event in the manner Chloe Swarbrick instructed them to (see video). If so, it’s another sad demonstration of their green left sympathies. A real media would be calling for Mr Doyle’s resignation. The Green party leaders need to go too for their appalling record of candidate selection.

Te Pāti Māori General Manager Kiri Tamihere, has just shared footage on social media of her in the front seat of a car on the open road with seemingly no seatbelt on, as she records her husband attempting and failing to tip water from a drink bottle on the outside of the windscreen with one hand , while driving with the other. Waititi is clearly distracted and looking down as another car flies past. This looks reckless and dangerous. Māori are disproportionately affected by car accidents, resulting in higher rates of serious injury and death compared to the total population. The press gallery should be all over this, given their response to the Doyle incident.

It’s high time we move away from asking families of a deceased person to give money when we pray for their deceased. There is a strong argument against 8Day Fidau prayer gathering already. Adding the problem of asking money from the families and friends of the deceased is even gross. We should condole with, help to pay up the debts of the deceased and seek goodness for the family, not add to their misery or compound their suffering. May Allah rectify our affairs. Āmīn.
