In April 2026, after Spain’s continued criticism of Israel’s Gaza operations, Benjamin Netanyahu ordered Spanish representatives removed from a Gaza-related coordination center and stated: —— “I do not intend to allow any country to wage a diplomatic war against us without paying an immediate price.” Spain under Sánchez became one of Europe’s loudest critics of Israel “genocide” language re: Gaza, and the opposition to US/Israeli actions on Iran, base access denials at Rota/Morón).
