It’s not feasible. It can’t be done with American support without dragging us into endless conflicts. Netanyahu understands this. I’ve been hammering it for a while. That’s what this is about. Now Ron Dermer, one of Israel’s sharpest strategic thinkers, under Netanyahu’s guidance, is putting forward a proposal for independence and sovereignty. That’s a step in the right direction.

He was the great cheerleader for overthrowing Syria. He’s been the cheerleader for a war with Iran that he’s just desperate to have this coming week, and I mean it literally. Where is Western civilization when Israel is massacring tens of thousands of people before our eyes, blowing up the housing, the hospitals, the clinics, the infrastructure of Gaza, then, now bombing indiscriminately Beirut—in fact, all parts of Lebanon—they were just bombing the port of Tyre, and Netanyahu’s talking about expanding the war to Iran. Of course, he can’t do it other than the United States getting into a war with Iran which would be a complete disaster—and a disaster for Israel—though it’s the one that Netanyahu is egging on. It is a pervasive view around the world that I am hearing every single day that there are no Western values because we see a genocide unfolding in Gaza, we see absolutely zero will of the US government to reign in what Israel is doing, though everything that Israel is doing depends on the US bombs, the US weapon systems, the US financing. This is a US operation being carried out by Israel but with complete complicity by the United States and silence by Europe. This is now the common parlance around the world. The most important thing is that, first of all, Israel remains in the security zone in southern Lebanon. This is a great achievement, and we are maintaining it as long as Hezbollah does not disarm, as long as there is a danger to the State of Israel. This is also a great blow to Iran. Iran is trying to force us to withdraw from southern Lebanon by force. And in essence, Israel, Lebanon, and the United States are telling them - this is none of your business. You have no role in Lebanon—neither you nor Hezbollah nor any terrorist organization. The other thing, of course, is that we are allowing the Lebanese army to begin organizing to seize territory. Israel’s Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. This is a very, very problematic Sunni alliance for the State of Israel. Egypt will apparently join this alliance as well. There was an Iran–Iraq–Syria–Lebanon axis, which we cut down, and Syria and Lebanon have left that game. Now we have another alliance. This requires us to be very, very careful. Pakistan is a country with nuclear weapons, and on this issue we need to remain on guard. This only strengthens the need for an alliance with a global superpower on the scale of the United States.
