Benson and Brinks are allergic to accountability. They’re bending themselves into pretzels to avoid it. Truth is Michigan’s gas tax is triple the federal gas tax, but they’re so busy trying to fix the blame that they’ve missed the point: fix the problem. Michigan’s gas prices are the highest...

You realize John that the gas tax goes toward repairing roads and trails. Without it and the Infrastructure investment made under the Biden Administration our roads will deteriorate further causing more damage to our vehicles. Trump is the cause of this self inflicted pain.

No one can just suspend the gas tank. The State Congress must act.

Screw the roads, we want $4.50 gas instead of $5 because we’re fucking cowards that can’t admit we lost Iran and work out a deal to open the strait

Perhaps the problem is the stupid war your boy Trump started

Blaming Michigan's gas tax for national price spikes ignores the reality. Drivers are paying $4.50+ at the pump because Trump’s foreign policy and war with Iran destabilized oil markets. A band-aid repeal doesn't fix a federal crisis.

It not just the gas tax. They're proposed a road usage tax on top of it. That's a tax that'll hit every driver on the road. Right now they say you'll have a choice, if it happens. Gas tax or usage tax. But it never stays that way.

Triple? Michigan's gas tax is 28.6¢/gal vs federal 18.4¢. That's 55% more, not triple. Accuracy matters when demanding accountability.

Michigan's state gas tax is 53.4 cents per gallon in 2026, and the federal gas tax is 18.4 cents per gallon. Indiana suspended their State gas tax but Michigan proposes a road usage tax to further hurt the Michigan people.
