Edmonton Police say a 23-year-old man was killed early Saturday after his car struck a light pole and caught fire on Anthony Henday Drive. Investigators believe a northbound Chevrolet Cavalier was travelling in the southbound lanes and caused the crash near the Highway 14 overpass. Witnesses pulled the man from his burning Chevrolet Cruze, but he died at the scene. The 23-year-old woman driving the Cavalier was later arrested by Strathcona County RCMP and is charged with dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving. Police continue to investigate.
