My old dog Lucky was the same way. He would lay on top of the highest snow drift and sit until he was covered with snow and still would refuse to come in.

It's in their blood, Bernese Mountains. Snow is their natural habitat and take to it like fish to water. But they're a lovely breed of dogs, to be sure: intelligent, loyal, affectionate, and faithful to the nth degree.🐾🫡
