Follow the money. Insurance companies donated to Democrats. Insurance companies wrote Obamacare. Democrats passed Obamacare. Insurance companies are making record profits, subsidized by Obamacare policy holders who are subsidized by government funding passed by Obamacare and extra subsidies passed by Democrats. Obamacare protects insurance companies, not customers. High premiums subsidized by tax dollars and ridiculous out of pocket minimums mean insurance companies pay very little but rake in billions. Extra subsidies are expiring. Democrats closed the federal government to try to extend these extra subsidies. Without extra subsidies, insurance companies will lose customers and their profits will decrease. Insurance companies continue to contribute to Democrats. Now, do you “get it?”

But Obamacare (a Democrat thing) is the root cause of this entire crisis, no? What’s the specific plan to bring down health care costs other than continuing down this same ever-failing path?!? Why isn't anyone putting pressure on health insurance companies (@UHC, @Aetna, @Cigna, @AnthemBCBS) who are jacking up prices and padding their profits by denying care for patients and payment to the docs who care for them after services are rendered. No one mentions that these subsidies, which are funded by our tax payer dollars, get wired directly into the accounts of evil health insurers (@UHC, @Aetna, @Cigna, @AnthemBCBS) and not to the Americans in need, who if given direct access to these funds (via an HSA or something comparable) could allocate them as needed based on their individual needs. Obamacare has basically been further enriching and empowering the very companies that f*ck over the American people, again, by denying care for patients and payment to their docs for care rendered. Moreover, they only offer sh*t plans with high copays and deductibles, so damn high that many can’t even afford to use their “coverage” - how does further enabling these vile companies’ ill behavior make any sense? That’s Obamacare in a nutshell, a plan that’s enriched private insurers using our tax payer dollars while failing to make healthcare either more affordable or more accessible. Last point, the pandemic ended years ago! These subsidies were known to be temporary and set to expire at the end of this year. All knew this very day was coming THREE years ago - why are we in panic mode now, when there were years to prepare?!? Any “negotiation” that begins with wanting to further extend Obamacare subsidies to continue propping up this ever-failing, crap legislation is rightfully an immediate dealbreaker. AND, based on what I heard from AOC and Bernie, the plan is do so in perpetuity?!? Yikes! More Obamacare isn’t the answer. It never was.
