SHUTDOWN: Democrat Whip of the US House of Representatives Katherine Clark said that American families will have to endure the Democrat-led government shutdown so the party can maintain its leverage. She acknowledged that shutdowns are terrible and that families will suffer, but said it is one of the few times the party has real leverage. Hopefully the drive-by media will stop trying to pin the shutdown on Republicans and believe the Democrats now that they are openingly embracing the shutdown.
