BREAKING: The North Carolina Legislature has successfully overridden the Democrat governor's veto of the law they passed, which strips away the Democrats' control of the State Elections Board. This means future elections in North Carolina will be far more secure & accurate. Remember that this is the same Board that rejected RJK Jr.'s request to take his name off the ballot. The power to appoint board members will now be in the newly-elected Republican state auditor's hands. Besides the powerful election integrity change. The new law also: - Removes corrupt judges from office - Prevents the Attorney General's office from interfering in lawsuits filed by the General Assembly - And ensures that State Supreme Court vacancies are filled from a list of recommendations by the party of whichever justice retires. I am one happy guy right now. It's SUPER AWESOME that they pulled it off. I honestly expected at least one Republican Rep to turn, but Speaker Moore & the leadership kept all of them in line. GREAT WORK!

WOAH 🚨 Investigation into “hundreds and hundreds of internal state and city documents” of the Pacific Palisades fires reveals THE CITY CHANGED LOG RECORDS of when the technician actually showed up who was supposed to turn the power off “Shortly after the fire started, there's a request that the power to that substation be turned off. The person that was supposed to shut the power off didn't arrive until much later in the day. Governor Beshear’s Budget Director has refused to turn over financial reports to the Legislature, and Rep. Jason Petrie went off. The Legislature wanted to see the budget recommendations that cabinet secretaries made for their departments, but Budget Director Hicks refused to turn them over, saying that those reports are for the governor, not the Budget Committee. Beshear doesn’t make the budget—the Legislature does. They don’t need Beshear’s input and can pass whatever they want. The overriding concern here is that Beshear is running for president. A cabinet secretary might have submitted a budget that cuts useless programs, but Beshear would be worried about how it looks politically if he cut funding to a program that is politically advantageous to him. That is why the Budget Committee wanted to see the reports from the cabinets without the governor’s spin.

We have updated the WRN Fair Sports Awards listings. There are now 21 GOLD sports that state they are fair and safe for women from grassroots to elite level. In September 2023, when we launched the Awards, only SIX sports were awarded Gold. Currently, 35 sports have UNLAWFUL policies on their website, and 18 have policies under review. One month after the Supreme Court ruling there should be ZERO sports with unlawful policies. The judgment was quite clear and took immediate effect. We say to those sports that are twiddling their thumbs: ‘what are you waiting for?’ This week, WRN Sports Group wrote to the CEOs of the 35 unlawful sports asking when they would be complying with the Supreme Court ruling. Judging by the tone of some of the replies it seems many sports were waiting for ‘permission’ to put their houses in order (never underestimate the power of the internal EDI officer squealing transphobia at every turn). The link to our Fair Sports Awards is in the next post. If your sport is on the list of Unlawful sports why not write to them and ask why they are not complying with the law?
