Beshear: "These work requirements really aren't about getting people back to work. They are about increasing the paperwork on everybody ... when somebody misses that one box, they are kicked off for six months or more."

The “guy in the basement” is fictional “Approximately 64% of adults enrolled in Medicaid work either full-time or part-time. Many of the remaining 36% who don't work have valid reasons, such as being caregivers, having disabilities, or being in school, according to the Commonwealth Fund. A KFF analysis found that 92% of non-disabled Medicaid enrollees under 65 are already employed or have valid reasons for not working” And no … illegals aren’t getting Medicaid

Work requirements risk punishing those who need help most instead of offering real support.

I’d like to also know what the criteria is for able to work, who evaluates the qualifier and what process is in place for erroneous removals.

If these freeloaders are so stupid that they can't fill out a piece of paper, maybe it's a good thing the government isn't wasting money on them

Beshear’s right about the paperwork trap—bureaucrats love creating hoops to justify their existence. Kentucky’s HB 695 projects $184M in Medicaid “savings” by booting 75k people over red tape. But real reform isn’t about kicking folks off rolls—it’s dismantling the bloated system that lets hospitals overcharge and pharma monopolies inflate drug prices. Cutting coverage for missed paperwork? That’s not efficiency. It’s a shell game to protect a broken medical-industrial complex. Fix the waste, not the victims. See how the numbers and policy details expose the real winners and losers:

So an elderly senile person (like Trump) who doesn't understand the forms and can't get thru to Medicaid forgets a box and loses their health coverage for at least 60 days. Saving money at the risk of people dying is not the America we were. It's now Trump's America , where deaths are ok.

Democrats want freeloaders and illegals to get benefits that are intended for Americans in need.
