Sally Field says Pierce Brosnan was funnier than Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) “Robin was always trying something different. It was so unfunny. And then wonderful Pierce, he made fart noise on his arm. And I was gone. That was it.”

In Mrs. Doubtfire, Sally Field’s character was just so insufferable that it was insane. The worst ex wife ever. She divorced Robin Williams character simply because he cared about his kids more than she did. He tried to make them happy in every way he could. Never cheated on her.

TMZ Rewind: On this day in 2014, we said goodbye to the legendary Robin Williams. From Mrs. Doubtfire to the Genie in Aladdin, he made us laugh, cry, and believe in magic. What’s the one role you’ll never forget?

In Mrs. Doubtfire, Sally Field’s character was one of the most insufferable ex wives ever. She divorced Robin Williams simply because he loved his kids and went overboard trying to make them happy with gifts. He never cheated, never treated anyone badly.

Robin Williams improvised so much on Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) that the footage could produce PG, PG-13 and R-rated cuts. After 2–3 scripted takes, he would ask to “let me play” and did 15–22 variations per scene, producing upto 2 million feet of film and 972 boxes of outtakes.
