Jordan Spieth has opened with rounds of 65 and 71 to be T2 at the Cadillac Championship, a Signature Event on the PGA Tour. After the round, he was asked if likes the no cut format and he gave a thoughtful answer: “I mean, if you're asking me personally like what, I mean, obviously. If you're asking me what's best for the PGA Tour, that's probably a different answer. But as a player in that, why wouldn't that be better? You know. But I don't know if that's what's going to be best or what's going to happen in the future. And that's not necessarily for the players to decide, it will be collaborating with the networks and the fans and the players, so it will be kind of a group effort. I think they're trying to figure that out. 🗨️ Cellbit was mentioned on the latest episode of Wine About It! #QTCINDERELLA: So, the Streamer Games is hosted by my lovely fiancé, Ludwig, and this is his third year doing it. For anybody who doesn't watch streamers, it's like Disney channel games, or the Olympics for streamers. Like, it's just a cute little get-together. #VALKYRAE: He did it special this year, where he had different countries... #QTCINDERELLA: Yeah, he was inspired by the World Cup. It was a pain in his butt to organize, but, god, there were like... some of the neatest people, so nice. I'm so happy that he did international, even though it was a pain in his butt, because like... Obviously, we've hung out with Cellbit before and like, y'know... #VALKYRAE: Yeah. Oh, he's so cool. #QTCINDERELLA: Dude, Cellbit is so great. Like, he is so freaking funny, he's so competitive... oh, my flashlight, what the heck? He's so competitive, but then the moment that you're like "wait, but I actually need help", he like cuts and is like "okay". And y'know, he gives you all these tips, and he's like "okay, here you go". You know, like, he's just really... It's just funny, he's just a natural competitor and so he's like... you know, he's just so kind to everybody, he's just so great to be around, even though he's so competitive. .DHH on how tobi lutke saw the potential of AI before most others: “The difference between a great racer and a mediocre racer is very often where do they look? If you're looking at the turn-in where you're supposed to turn, and not at the apex —you're not going to hit it. You go where you look. Don't look at the tree or you'll steer right into it. And training your eyes to look further ahead is actually quite difficult in racing, and I think it's quite difficult in business and life in general. And Tobi had an eye that was just looking further ahead than I was. And he was going "Yeah but it's [AI] not going to be like this forever.” Intuitively had this understanding of the evolution. And I'm still not entirely sure what did he see? Why didn't I see it? And I'm actually a little frustrated on my own behalf that I did not have the same conviction as Tobi did as early as he did, towards seeing yeah you don't like it right now but just imagine two more years of this. And he wrote a memo to the company internally I think in '23 or early '24 way before agents were doing the work on their own going: I've seen it. This is the big switch. This is what we've been waiting for. This is why I'm here as CEO to identify those kind of discontinuations in the trend line. We need to be a very different company to be able to position ourselves for that and take advantage of that.”

I asked Luke Kornet about his memories from stretches where he was a DNP for many games in a row, and what his message is to the young guys who find themselves in that position now: “It's just a lot of peace to come to life of accepting the position that you're in and then just doing the best with that, versus trying to fight it and want to be in a different one.” “You can spend a lot of time worrying about things that you can't really control. But when you just take the opportunity that you have and do the best with that, you can have days like today where a lot of guys came in and were able to contribute. You can have peace about knowing that you did your job well, just as you did the day before, the day after. It might just look a different way every time. I feel like that's what I've been taught through my life. That's the only thing attitude that you can have that you can actually do something with – versus trying to control things that are outside of what you can control.”

Neil Oliver, Scottish historian, broadcaster and one of the most fearless independent voices in the UK, joined me for one of the most wide-ranging conversations I have had about this conflict: "Iran has won the war it didn't want and didn't ask for... whatever happens next, we see ourselves living in a different world." The idea that the U.S. could exert its force wherever it saw fit for whatever reason has been exposed, and that illusion may be dead and buried forever. "I think so much of what I was told about the 20th century is a terrible, cynical lie, I wonder whether we in the West ever were the good guys, we were just guys, driven by the same things everyone else is..." People are no longer waiting for the official narrative to collapse, they are spotting psyops as they happen, calling them out instantly, and that is a very difficult thing to put back in the bottle. Justin Thomas is playing the Charles Schwab Challenge this week for the first time in 4 years. Ahead of the event, he said he builds his schedule around what best prepares him for the majors and it may change year to year: “Everybody's different. I would say the most, the first and foremost, most important thing that a lot of the top guys, a lot of, anybody that's in the majors, you're going to at least I would think, is what's going to prepare me the best for the major. So like I've had success in majors when I play the week before. “But playing San Antonio the week before the Masters for me doesn't feel like that's getting me prepared as much as possible for the Masters. Therefore, I don't play San Antonio. I had a year where the PGA, when it was at Southern Hills I wanted to play the week before Byron Nelson, it's easy travel, and I played the week before. So it's very situational of when you play, don't play in that regard. “But I mean I really, really, really try with all my might to not do four in a row, four in a row is like I'm not fun to be around. It's very taxing. So I try to cap it at three. “And, yeah, there's a lot of great tournaments, we're very fortunate to have to miss some great events, but you have to at some point. They always knew about Epstein, the problem was the ones in charge were the ones involved. They were mocking you right to your face for decades, literally putting it right in front of you and people had no idea, buying whatever they were told. Everyone just loves pizza and writes it on their inner lip and sends bizarre emails about it, hot dogs, torture chambers, and having 3 kids Ubered over to your adult party for "entertainment." Then the mainstream media refused to report on it and called it all a hoax just to find out that the ones writing about it, saying it wasn't real, were the ones involved for sexually abusing children themselves. All the major networks, including CNN, ABC, The Recount, BBC, The Atlantic, etc., all the way up to our own government officials around the world. How naive can you be? The point I'm making is that it hasn't ended and there are now other things and events happening. The same games are being played but for different events and situations. It's time to come together and end this cabal. Stop falling for the same dirty tricks. Everything we're doing now is for nothing if we don't.

My coaches, they poured into me because they saw that I had the potential. I watched everybody. If you came in for a tryout or a free agent, you were there for a reason. There was something unique or special about your skill set. So I learned from everything. There was a reason slot guys played slot. I knew they had a special skill set. If you’re shifty, you can play slot. I had to mimic some of what they’re doing, and I did that with my work habits. At the combine I ran a 4.63. You got linemen running 4.5’s. All designs are tradeoffs, and we're not entirely sure that we've made the right ones in this case. We work through a few different options, compare them to what we're about to ship, and ultimately decide to go in a simpler direction with fewer tradeoffs. We think it works best all things considered, while the original design may have worked best nothing else considered. The feature is now live in everyone's Basecamp account.
