Best way I can explain it

The answer is that comic book fans aren't really comic book fans; they view movies as a higher form of storytelling, which is why they get mad when movies change things. If your comic fan, keep reading the comics! No movie fan complains about comic changes..

Well I don’t think anyone disagrees with movies being a better medium to experience fiction in, that doesn’t now make them wrong for wanting the book to come to life

I’d like to add that Live Action adaptations are THE mainstream thing, opinions and talk around your favorite characters will stem from that and if it’s not a good adaptation it’s super frustrating

What was that post that you deleted about

What post ?

So we’re ignoring that post?

Other than Spiderman, a lot of times they’ve adapted unusual alternate versions of characters before adapting the iconic version I do agree with that, although sometimes an adaptation has the core of the iconic version while being a variation, and those get nitpicked too much.

it's fiction, i always said it is not history nor documentary the comic book itself is fiction , the character is fiction, the stories itself are fiction the movies / series they are adapting are from fiction so what's the fuss ? there is no need to have faithful 1 to 1 adaption hell even history didn't get a faithful adaption when they made a movie out of it

The thing people also don't realisr is that this Hal jordan from the live action hasn't done any green lantern shit in his costume, hasn't been show doing proper green lantern shit. Hel hasn't even been show facing green lantern shitty villains

Movies will always reach a wider audience and that is what will shape public opinion on certain events or characters. Biggest example is people thinking thanos did the snap out of a twisted humanitarian crisis and not just him loving death.

28 secs in ya lost me, cause even if you want to argue the fact of, "well they're adaptations" they are essentially treated as a separate universe. Vs something like kick ass which directly tries to adapt the comic almost 1:1 but their changes ultimately lessen the comic story

This is why liking both >>> picking sides

Heck they adapted WOT even tho it's mid it got adapted and could easily fit into main Canom

Well the thing is comic fans accept alternate stuff and reboots if it’s good like I saw someone bring up the new 52 like that shit didn’t get constantly trashed same with injustice also comic fans can accept different adaptations as long as it has the same feel

This concept also doesn’t work because most of these big characters have other adaptions. Comics, animated and live action appearances— fuckin fan media can sometimes have some pull. But no one, between DC or Marvel is lying to yall about how deep of an adaptation they’re making.

I get it but JL Unlimited only had Hal in a cameo and ppl loved that series..I get the movie aspect tho

It's a very good point which I agree with, but at the same time comic fans should accept that adaptations don't copy and paste. At the end of the day they're going to do whatever fits the medium they're adapting the story into, be it live action, series, animation or video game.

Agreed
