When we take a closer look, taxes often seem to serve no real purpose beyond creating the illusion that they fund the government. In reality, most taxes are funneled to benefit politicians and their agendas. Tariffs, on the other hand, could do a far better job. Why? Because the infrastructure for managing tariffs already exists, and they would protect local industries while generating revenue without burdening everyday citizens with unnecessary taxation.

@FirstAmend75255 Yes I did know this and have posted on it a few times. Up until the New Deal, we were only asked to pay income taxes for a 10 year period only once. That was to pay off the Civil War debt. Yet, we managed to run more efficiently back in the days of no income taxes.

You don't owe us anything. We have worked hard for it.
