The true root of this entire assault on His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, and on Catholics broadly, is one and the same: Catholics do not bow to Zionist theology. We reject that theological distortion. We do not say “God bless Israel 🇮🇱.” We do not regard the Jewish people as uniquely favored in God’s eyes. That is precisely why we cannot be manipulated or held hostage to the emotional blackmail that has proven so effective on much of the evangelical world. To Trump’s ultra-Zionist administration, this is unforgivable. And so they have chosen to attack us without mercy, until we submit or are broken. Our allegiance is not to any ideology. Was the Old World the thousand-year reign of peace? People lived for several hundred years, had glorified bodies, and therefore didn't need food or water, making toilets unnecessary. This is said to have been the thousand-year reign of peace. And its king, none other than Jesus Christ himself. If this is true, it means that we are not living in the end times, but rather in the "little time," in which Satan will be released once more to tempt humanity one last time. In fact, the Bible specifically tells us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” Our desire is not conflict, but that people across the region would experience freedom—especially the freedom to worship God. We pray for the people of Israel and the people of Iran alike—that there would be a genuine spiritual awakening and that many would come to Christ. After all, so much of the history of the Bible unfolded in that very part of the world, and Scripture tells us that Jesus Himself will one day return to the Mount of Olives. Let’s all do what Scripture calls us to do: pray—for peace, for freedom, and for hearts to turn to God.

One can say “Christ is King” and the Lord may say, “I never knew you.” Christ did not come to establish political reign here on earth. He chastised the followers who asked it from Him, saying, “My Kingdom is not of this world.” It is not the Christian project to idolize social or political power, demanding special respect or position from others *because* “Christ is King.” In fact, this is the opposite. We are called to be salt and light, remembering that the Faith we possess is a gift given to us by God, one we do not deserve. We are called to love, to serve, to share the Faith in word and deed, and to pick up our cross and follow Him, until we can enter His Eternal Kingdom.
