This was one of her first ever solo award show performances (she had done a couple of Crazy in Love performances before this) and the first time she performed Baby Boy. Everyone was GAGGED

She was 22 here 🤯 this performance was monumental for her career imo, it really put her solo career on the map and everyone started to pay attention. This is also why I don’t take anyone who tries to compare her to newer pop girls seriously. She’s been relevant for forever
