One does not go to Africa to look for material things. Africa should be seen by Black American as a place where to go to rest when things go wrong in the US. You stay there in your little house for a few months then you go back. Don't go to Africa expecting NYC, London, or Paris

Well said!! I tell people this all the time. Learn to appreciate and respect the countries you visit, respect their dress codes and culture, or just stay in your own country.

I also feel like some places cater too much to tourism unfortunately… like the design and experience is western

I wanna say ALL Americans do this not just us but yes I agree with everything she says. When ppl come to the US we always collectively expect them to just do everything we do, well same goes for their countries when we visit.
