I’m 34. When I was younger, I battled to get sober, had my company raided by the government, traveled the world, and started multiple 8-figure companies. 11 lessons for 20-year-old Matt: 1. Prioritize Nature Nature's been my biggest mentor and therapist. Getting outside daily, taking my shoes off, and grounding myself has brought infinite stability to my life. 2. Never Stop Building Your Network Over the years, I've created a personal Board of Advisors. Some of my closest friends are killers across sales, writing, YouTube, community building, and strategy. I know world-class advice is just a phone call away. 3. Never Compromise Your Ethics In tough decisions where blurring the lines is an option, choose moral. NEVER compromise your ethics. It'll affect you in subconscious ways you never imagined. 4. Be Boring A lot of success comes from just saying no to cheap dopamine. And instead, focusing on the mundane: • Maximizing sleep • Guarding time for workouts • Not eating out in favor of your nutritious diet Boring's not a bad word when you're on the up. 5. Become a Self-Starter The fastest way to grow your career: Find your bosses' pain points and solve them without being asked. You put yourself on the radar - and train your entrepreneurial muscle for when you need it. 6. Learn Storytelling Early Sales, hiring, marketing - it's all storytelling. It's the highest intangible ROI skill you can learn. The first step: Study storytelling frameworks and the 7 fundamental human emotions. 7. Be Humble However hard it is on your ego, you need to swallow your pride every damn day. It's how you'll take criticism better, know when to ask for help, and know when to cut your losses. Grasping onto an image of who you are only limiting what you might become. 8. Never Skip 2 Days With whatever habit you're forming, only skip a maximum of one day. Once you skip two in a row, you've lost momentum. I've found this rule much more practical than 'never miss a day'. 9. Find Your Peak Energy State Keep trying new work environments. Experiment with working at different times. Until you find when you're most energetic, at ease, and productive. That's your competitive advantage. 10. Embrace Compounding Aim to get 1% better everyday - and be 37x better by the end of the year. It's a simple mindset hack that'll bring you a world of joy down the line. All you need is consistency. 11. Never Feel Sorry for Yourself Embrace the suck and use it as fuel to level up. You're not a victim - don't get in the habit of thinking you are one. That's a surefire way to never achieve anything. It's simple: if you've chosen the wrong road, go back and find the right one. Dear X Family, PLEASE RETWEET ❤️and be the voice for the beagles inside Marshall BioResources. 🔥 Marshall BioResources no longer allows employees to adopt beagle puppies born with minor imperfections — like different-colored eyes, being too small, too fearful, or overly reactive. Instead of giving these puppies a chance at life, they are euthanized. 🔥 The surplus of 23,000 beagles is costing Marshall BioResources more money every day. With the recent closure of NIH’s dog labs, more labs shutting down, and others unable to transition to cruelty-free testing, we fear Marshall will begin euthanizing their inventory of beagles. You're invited to join our protest at Marshall BioResources. From Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10, 2025, starting at 7 AM EST, animal advocates from across the country will join our peaceful protest and gather at 5800 Lake Bluff Road, North Rose, NY 14516 outside of Marshall BioResources. Dave, Dave Portnoy A simple RT would help boost our mission to close this place. Thank you! Let’s keep this protest peaceful, safe, and effective. Please review the following: 1️⃣ Dogs Are Welcome! 🐾 Bring your furry friends—but have their up-to-date vaccine records ready (Health Van certificates are okay!). Dear X Family, PLEASE RETWEET for the 23,000 beagles inside Marshall Bioresources 💔 Beagle Freddy stands proud with protestors across road from Marshall BioResources (MBR). Freddy returns today with some MBR survivor beagles expected to join us! Only two NY news stations cover our rural location in North Rose, NY. We've had ongoing correspondence with both stations, but they can't guarantee coverage today. We still have Saturday for them to come. Here's yesterday's report from the protest. 5/8/25 Day 1 – Protest Report This morning, Marshall BioResources’ owner, Scott Marshall had State Trooper stationed at the front gate. He had employees wear masks and park in a public lot a quarter-mile away -- the same lot we had planned to use. But no worries -- we’re proudly lined up across the road from the main gate, standing strong for the 23,000 beagles trapped inside. Despite the chilly 46°F rain, spirits were high and new friendships formed. Freddy the beagle made an appearance too -- a reminder of why we’re here. Half the crowd today came from out of state, and we were heartbroken to see a school bus dropping off children right at Marshall’s gate this afternoon. We still have Friday and Saturday to make noise! Media coverage is tough out here in rural NY, but we’re not giving up! More people are arriving Friday and momentum is building. We’re here. We’re loud for the beagles inside! Marshall BioResources breeds beagles for outdated testing. They euthanize puppies for failing to meet "standards" ---including different eye colors! These puppies could have gone to loving homes. People with weak cores struggle to stabilize their bodies when they walk. Every step you take sends a little punch up your leg into your hip and lower back. Planks with one or more support points removed to expose this weakness. Use these 12 exercises to strengthen your core: 1 - Bird-Dog (0:06) 3 x 10/side Beginners start with this exercise because removing two support points with your knees on the floor is easier. The goal is to straighten the opposing arm and leg. A client wobbled when she removed her two support points today, which humbled her. 2 - Front Plank with Leg Lift, Elbows (0:15) 3 x 10/side The second plank involves lifting one leg at a time. Being on your elbows is easier than your straightened arms, so I'll first have people familiarize themselves with this position. Lift your leg as high as you can without swinging too much. Hold at the top for a few seconds to increase the burn. 3 - Front Plank with Arm/Leg Lift, Elbows (0:20) 3 x 10 The third plank resembles the Bird Dog, except your knees are off the floor. Straighten the opposite arm and leg at the same time, and hold. You might struggle to reach a full lengthening, so do your best and practice. Removing one hand off the floor also strengthens your shoulder blade muscles. 4 - Front Rotation Plank, Elbows (0:28) 3 x 10/side The fourth plank engages different abdominal muscles with the rotation. Your arms should point toward the ceiling, something beginners might initially struggle with. 5 - Push-Up Plank (0:34) 3 x 10 The fifth plank is excellent for building upper body strength at home. You are bound to break a sweat and work your chest and triceps. I've had many clients struggle to do more than one rep. 6 - Spider Plank, Elbows (1:01) 3 x 10/side The sixth plank improves your hip mobility as well. You want to open the leg and bring your knee to hip level while keeping in the air. 7 - Lateral Raise Plank (1:09) 3 x 10-20/side The seventh plank is done in a push-up position with your arms straight. There is now more weight on your arms, making it harder to stabilize when you remove a support point. My client tried this variation and had to regress to the Bird Dog because she couldn't support herself. Work your way up to 20 reps/side for extra posture gains. 8 - Toe Taps, Straight Arms (1:22) 3 x 10/side The eight plank has you lifting one leg toward one side and touching the floor with your toes. The contact is brief - You're tapping, not resting. 9 - Mountain Climbers with Twist (1:29) 3 x 10/side The ninth plank is a twist on the classic mountain climbers exercise. You lift one leg and bring it toward the opposite elbow, then repeat on the other side. Increase the speed to add a cardio component, but ensure you can first go through the full range of motion. 10 - Arm/Leg Lift Plank, Straight Arms (1:42) 3 x 10 The tenth plank is the final evolution of the Bird Dog in this series. Straighten your opposite arm and leg, and hold for a few seconds to increase the burn. You can also hold the lengthened position for an extended period, like 30 to 60 seconds. 11 - Plank Jacks (1:54) 3 x 30-60s The eleventh plank is a variation of the classic Jumping Jack. This dynamic exercise adds a cardio component to your core workout. Shuffle both feet toward the side, then jump back to the starting position, Ensure you keep your hips aligned with your head and shoulders. You want to avoid your lower back crashing below them and potentially hurting yourself. 12 - Knee to Elbow Plank, Straight Arms (2:01) 3 x 10/side This series's twelfth and final plank requires the most stability and mobility. Most people are unable to reach their knee to the elbow. Enjoy practicing this one; you will feel stronger after three full sets. // Planks with one or more support points removed are excellent for building a more stable posture when you move. They can be done anywhere with enough space. Progress through the twelve variations in this series and watch how your core strength improves. Enjoy!

Uber founder Travis Kalanick: “Every angel deal that gets done is a momentum play” Below are the key excerpts from Travis’s blog post [Startup Seed Raising Skillzzz]: 1. Priming the Pump. “Go to angel gatherings, industry conferences, any and all networking events. Meet people who are angels or who know angels. Give ‘em the elevator pitch… make sure you’re meeting with somebody new EVERY DAY.” 2. Intro meetings. “Informal discussion where you pitch the company over a lunch/coffee/etc., and expand potential angel network through referrals. Get your pitch down to 5-10 minutes, and prepare a tight FAQ in your head so that you have tight answers to the top 20 questions. Let them pay. Be proud of your scrappiness.” 3. ABC’s – Always Be Closing. ”At the end of every meeting, get a clear understanding of where they stand on your deal opportunity.” 4. Referrals are key. “Most angels will immediately offer up a couple folks they can hook you up with… always ask for more folks you can connect with.” 5. Advisors: ”Turn a couple of these potential angels into advisors. Having a few top-notch people in your corner can make all the difference in turning the tide in an angel round.” 6. Thought Partner: ”Pick one advisor, co-founder, or mentor who will be your thought partner in managing the process.” 7. The List: ”Keep a list (aka pipeline) of the people you’re meeting with, the referrals that they provide you, and the level of their interest in the seed round. Stay on the ball…Always follow up.” 8. Passion/Charisma. “Focus on the positive, have confidence, be amped, bring passion to your game, and share the love with the person across from you.” 9. Credibility. ”DO NOT FIGHT THE TRUTH… Do not try to spin out of what your weak points are. Do not try to make something certain that is not. Do not pretend to know something that you don’t. Credibility is the name of the game in fundraising.” 10. Momentum and Urgency. ”Investors are fickle creatures, they are motivated by fear and greed… Time IS NOT YOUR FRIEND! The longer the process drags out, the more it seems that nobody is interested in your deal, and the less likely you are to actually get one.” 11. Getting the Lead. ”Until you have a lead, you don’t have a deal… The way to get a lead is to spur one of the larger, most interested investors into making an offer.” 12. The Competitive Deal – The Need for Speed. ”The second you have a single term sheet, you need to move *very* quickly to get a second one. You don’t have a lot of time, because momentum at this point is crucial to closing… Your second term sheet will be easier to get than your first, but it will make a HUGE impact on your deal. Without a second termsheet, you will be in a position to take whatever crappy terms the original lead provided, and it’s quite possible that the terms could get worse (or even go away!) as the one-termsheet deal drags out.” 13. Herding the cattle. ”Once you start working the competitive leads, you need to start getting word out to ALL of the interested parties, that this deal is getting hot, and that you could start moving to close in very short order… This makes them anxious about the competitive situation you’ve created b/c now your deal has been validated.” 14. Anti-Collusion. ”The heavyweights in your deal will have the inclination to collude to make the terms better… Keep it short and sweet with each potential colluder, and draw a very straight firm line that the material terms are not changing.” 15. Sprint through the close. ”Until the deal is closed, you have at best a 50/50 shot of it happening. Keep working new seed investors, keep the competitive leads warm, get your deal oversubscribed, because until your deal is done, it’s just a nice fantasy in your head.” Video source: Tech.co (2011)

🚨 Just In: Republicans UNLEASH Unprecedented Campaign – Half Million Doors Is Just the BEGINNING Illinois Republican Revolution Launches THIS SATURDAY 📍 The Assembly American Bar & Café, West Dundee - August 23rd, 12:30 PM Join the historic movement: [email protected] If you want to donate to help flip the most gerrymandered state in the country, and help mess up JB Pritzker's shot at President then donate now at EXPLOSIVE DEVELOPMENT: Thomas McCullagh and the Congressional Republican Organization of Illinois are launching the most ambitious ground game in state history this Saturday, August 23rd. What's about to unfold in West Dundee isn't just another political event—it's the beginning of a revolution that will touch half a million doors across Illinois. The numbers are staggering: 75-100 petitions per candidate, armies of volunteers descending on three counties simultaneously, and a goal that seemed impossible—40,000 signatures in a single day. McCullagh's leaked communications reveal the scope: 14,000 signatures targeted in Kane County alone, another 15,000 across Kendall and Cook, all before sunset. This is only the first of 25 planned walks. For decades, Illinois Republicans have been crushed between Democrat dominance and corruption within their own party. The establishment GOP left conservatives with no ground game, no hope, no voice. But Tom McCullagh, working with Dean White, has built something the old guard never anticipated—a grassroots machine powered by ordinary citizens ready to reclaim their state. The urgency in McCullagh's messages is palpable. "URGENT - Please bring 75-100 petitions PER CANDIDATE!!!" The turnout has exceeded all expectations, creating a desperate need for notaries. Over 100 volunteers have confirmed for West Dundee alone, with similar numbers mobilizing in Bolingbrook. This isn't politics as usual—this is a movement. The participating candidates include Ted Dabrowski for Governor, Sheriff James Mendrick, Jessica Breugelmans for State Senate, and dozens more. Each bringing volunteer armies. The Congressional Republican Organization provides targeted walk lists, clipboards, refreshments, and Team Solutions support. They've thought of everything—QR codes for instant donations, a military-precision operation that costs just $7,000 to execute what Democrats spend millions failing to achieve. McCullagh's vision extends beyond Saturday. "My goal is to touch a half million doors," he states confidently. The math is powerful: 25 walks, thousands of volunteers, every neighborhood covered. For just $2,500 per event, they're accomplishing what the establishment said was impossible. The strategy is brilliant: Three simultaneous operations across three counties, volunteers trained in door-to-door signature collection, notaries on-site to lock in every signature. McCullagh personally oversees operations, teaching volunteers how to handle every situation. What makes this revolutionary is the efficiency. While establishment consultants burn through millions, McCullagh's operation runs on volunteer passion and smart organization. Candidates print their own sheets, volunteers bring their own transportation, every dollar stretches to maximum impact. Saturday begins at 10 AM in Bolingbrook with 61 volunteers and 13 candidates targeting 7,500 signatures. Then the army moves to West Dundee at 12:30 PM, where 100 volunteers will flood Kane County. Simultaneously, teams deploy across Kendall and Cook counties. By evening, they'll have collected more signatures in one day than most campaigns gather in months. This isn't just about signatures—it's building infrastructure for victory. Every door knocked creates a voter contact. Every signature represents a potential volunteer. Every conversation plants seeds for November and beyond. McCullagh and White aren't just running a petition drive; they're building a permanent campaign machine. The real numbers tell the story: Kane County alone will generate up to 14,000 signatures. Combine that with Kendall and Cook Counties, and you're looking at 30,000 to 40,000 signatures in just three hours on a Saturday afternoon. The establishment said it couldn't be done. McCullagh doesn't listen to consultants—he listens to the people of Illinois ready for change. The establishment never saw this coming. While they focused on cocktail fundraisers, McCullagh built an army. While they complained about Democrat dominance, he created solutions. While they accepted defeat, he planned victory. Saturday marks the beginning of the end for politics as usual in Illinois. Mark your calendars: August 23rd, 12:30 PM, The Assembly American Bar & Café, West Dundee. Whether you're a candidate, volunteer, or just someone tired of watching Illinois collapse, this is your moment. History doesn't wait—it's made by those bold enough to act. Tom McCullagh is acting. Will you join him?

People today walk around with the stiffest hips, and the implications are disastrous. You set yourself up for chronic pain and bad posture for the rest of your life. Take control now before it's too late. These 10 stretches will free your hips from their misery: The best time to do these stretches is before bed, as you unload all the tension accumulated throughout the day and achieve a deeper sleep. 1 - Half Frog Stretch (0:06) 3 x 30-60s/side This one is excellent for your inner thighs and hip flexors. You also stretch your abdominals. 2 - Seated Crossed Leg Reach Forward Stretch (0:14) 3 x 30-60s This stretch also hits the lats that sit right above your hips. Some of you may be unable to reach forward with your legs crossed. The first milestone is to touch the floor with your hands and then slide them forward. 3 - Seated Pigeon Stretch (0:23) 3 x 30-60s/leg Today, one of my clients felt a massive pull just by crossing his leg and pushing down. Forget leaning forward! The goal is to bring your chest down to your leg while keeping your back straight. Push your hips back toward the wall behind you to lower your torso. 4 - Seated Glute Strech (0:32) 3 x 30-60s/leg The difference between this stretch and the Seated Pigeon is that you curl your upper back to lower your head to your leg. 5 - Lying Glute Stretch (0:43) 3 x 30-60s/leg Lying on your back with one leg crossed. Pull the other leg toward your chest and hold. 6 - Pigeon Stretch (0:52) 3 x 30-60s/leg This stretch never fails to open my clients' hips, though many will feel enough of a pull by simply crossing one leg. The goal is to reach forward and lower your torso parallel to the floor. 7 - Glute Bridge with External Rotation (1:00) 3 x 10-12/leg This one is great because you strengthen one leg and stretch the other. Due to a lack of strength or mobility, you might have to rotate with a bent leg before moving onto a straightened one. 8 - Frog Stretch (1:05) 3 x 30-60s The frog stretch is amazing for your inner thigh muscles. Start kneeling with your elbows on the floor and your feet pointing outward. Slide backward and hold. 9 - Crossed-Leg Glute Bridge (1:14) 3 x 30-60s/leg Here is another Glute Bridge variation where you strengthen one leg and stretch the other. You feel the hip opening up at the top, so hold it there and rotate your knee away from your body to increase the pull. 10 - V Stretch (1:23) 3 x 30-60s You can do this stretch with your legs up in the air or against a wall. // Start taking care of your hips now before they turn into stone. Reversing the stiffness becomes much more painful and takes much longer if you let it fester over the years. You'll feel much more relaxed and move smoother once you eliminate all the excess pressure.

Mark Cuban revealed the secrets that turned him from bartender to billionaire: 1. Do not follow your passion. Follow your effort. Where you actually put your time and energy is where your real talent lives. Passion is a feeling. Effort is evidence. The business you are willing to grind for is the business you should be building. 2. Read the manual. In any new industry or technology, most people are too lazy to learn the basics. The person who simply takes the time to understand how something works will always be ahead of the person who does not. That gap is your opportunity. 3. Sweat equity is the best equity. Raising money is not an achievement. It is a liability. The moment someone gives you money they own a piece of your destiny. Build with effort first and capital second. 4. Be profitable from day one. Cuban never had a losing month at Micro Solutions. Not one. Profit is not something you figure out later. It is the discipline you build from the very first transaction. Growth without profit is just a slow death. 5. Sales cures all. Every single problem in a business can be solved with more revenue. If you are struggling, you are not selling enough. Stop fixing internal problems and go get more customers. 6. Differentiation is everything. If you are describing your company using words like faster, better, or cheaper you have already lost. Those words mean nothing because your competitor is saying the exact same thing. Find the thing only you can do and make that the whole story. 7. Always ask is this the best possible way. Cuban does not just look at businesses and think about improvements. He looks at them and asks whether they can be completely dismantled and rebuilt from scratch. That question is what turned a desire to hear basketball games into a company he sold for billions. 8. Control your own destiny. The minute you become dependent on a partner, an investor, or a single customer for survival, you have handed your future to someone else. Every decision you make should protect your ability to operate independently. 9. Entrepreneurship is not about the idea. It is about doing the work everyone else refuses to do. Most people get excited about an idea, talk about it, and stop there. The ones who win are the ones who wake up the next day and actually do something about it. 10. Lie to yourself and you will fail. Cuban says entrepreneurs deceive themselves more than anyone. About whether their idea is truly different. About how hard their competition will fight back. About how much time they actually have. Brutal honesty with yourself is not optional. It is survival. 11. Time is worth more than money. Cuban turns down investments not because of the financials but because of the time they will cost him. Money can be made again. Time cannot be recovered. Every opportunity should be measured against what it costs you in hours not just dollars. 12. Success is waking up excited about the day. Not the net worth. Not the title. Not the house. Cuban defines success as opening your eyes in the morning and feeling genuinely excited about what is ahead. Everything else, the money, the fame, the Mavericks, is just a byproduct of that feeling.

My only complaint is that they gave too many great answers... the highlight trailer ended up being twice as long as I intended! Topics in the trailer clips included: - the event's backstory - first El Salvador experiences - recent innovations in Bitcoin Country - meeting President Nayib Bukele - a Salvadorian's reaction to the Bitcoin Law - why Max & Stacy Invitational is uniquely amazing ...and much more. Thanks to Brandon Martin 🔥🌊☀️ for recording these! Enjoy the full episode here: And stay tuned... I'll release each of these four mini-interviews separately here on X over the next few days. Then there are two more episodes from this event after that, featuring many more incredible guests here in Bitcoin Country 🇸🇻🚀

Yesterday, I hit 900 days sober, and I’m sharing a video of my journey to show you what’s possible if you are struggling & you break free. This is at the heart of SessionsTheFilm 🙏 Impossible without my rock, my wife Shelley holding me accountable for my actions and giving me the chance to change. Thank you. Sobriety didn’t just change my life—it made it better than I ever imagined, proving we’re capable of achieving anything once we remove the negative influences holding us back. For years, I was my own worst enemy, stuck in a cycle of bad choices, almost like the universe was reflecting that chaos back at me. If you’re drinking or using drugs to escape your life or your feelings—like I was—you’ll never find real happiness until you face yourself and build something worth sticking around for. I used to think alcohol and drugs were my problem, but they weren’t. They were my solution to the mess in my head—a habitual coping mechanism. Once I learned to cope on my own and replaced those habits with new ones, life became beautiful. In the last 900 days of sobriety, I’ve achieved so much: I sold out 60 shows on my UK comedy tour, racked up millions of views on my podcast about sobriety, and built a Facebook group with 50,000 lads that’s now a charity—Men and Their Emotions—raising funds for counseling and addiction support. I became a better father with a new baby, made my wife happy, ditched the toxic users and people-pleasing, and grew confident. I learned to box, won a Misfits match, and stopped letting manipulators intimidate me. I opened a restaurant, a podcast studio, a comedy club, and a gym. I wrote a film about my journey—men lost to mental health, women holding families together, addiction’s wreckage—with an incredible cast ready to bring it to life. But my proudest achievement? Being present for my family. My newest baby wouldn’t be here without sobriety, and nothing beats showing up for them, alive and thriving. I’ve slowly mended my mental health and anxiety, trading countless bad days for good ones. To anyone struggling: instead of escaping your life through drink or drugs, why not build a life you never want to escape? You’ve got this ❤️

THE DUP ARE SACRIFICING CHILDREN ON THE LGBTQ+ ALTAR - Burke Family Statement from the DUP Conference We attended the DUP conference at the La Mon Hotel on Friday and Saturday last week. On Friday evening we spoke with Minister of Education Paul Givan as he arrived at the DUP Conference dinner and accompanying entertainment. We questioned him on why he, as Minister of Education, is promoting LGBTQ+ ideology to schools across Northern Ireland. Upon arriving at the hotel the following day we approached DUP MLA Jonny Buckley but he quickly disappeared into the building. On both days, shortly after we arrived at the conference, the police were called. It is a low state of affairs when the DUP must resort to the PSNI to protect them from accountability. The current recommended RSE curriculum for Northern Ireland schools contains detailed and extensive material promoting subjects such as transgender ideology, “consent”, and pornography. Paul Givan is recommending that schools at both primary and secondary level establish links with Cara-Friend, an organisation which believes children as young as three can be transgender. These teachings and beliefs represent the demolition of Christian belief. Children who imbibe such ideology in schools will be lost to Christianity, the precise reason why such ideologies are promoted in the first place. On 24 June Nigel Dodds of the DUP attended the Westminster National Prayer Breakfast. Only days previously parliament had passed legislation for the murder of the unborn up to birth as well as the killing of the elderly. At the event Mr Dodds offered a prayer on stage, standing beside and joining in fellowship with MPs who had voted in favour of these evil laws as well as promoting LGBTQI+ ideology. Mr Dodds was joined in prayer by a prominent Catholic priest - Christopher Colven - who is the Catholic Chaplain to the Houses of Parliament. Absolutely nothing was said about the wickedness which had just been sanctioned by many politicians at the event. Such prayers, in this context, are an abomination. Paul Givan recently stated that he had full confidence in every member of the Education Authority. These members include many unionists who have been silent on the promotion of LGBTQ+ ideology. They also include Paul Kavanagh of Sinn Féin who received five life sentences for an IRA nail bombing in the 1980s which killed an 18-year old young man and a 59-year old widow as well as injuring forty others. Mr Kavanagh has thus far also been silent on the Education Authority’s promotion of transgender ideology. The DUP, once the party of faith and morals, are now deniers of Christ. The DUP’s promotion of LGBTQ+ ideology is of course closely linked to the leadership of the Free Presbyterian Church. Mervyn Storey, the Chair of the Education Authority, who was exposed as promoting transgender ideology to schools across Northern Ireland, is an elder in Ballymoney Free Presbyterian Church. He was and is fully supported by his Minister, David Park. In recent days many Free Presbyterian ministers have been loudly eulogising Charlie Kirk after he was assassinated in the United States. They have called for prayer for Mr Kirk’s widow Erika, a wealthy woman who no doubt will have ample support and succour from Cardinals and Bishops of her Roman Catholic Church. These ministers have beaten their breasts and praised Mr Kirk to the heavens for his stand on transgenderism. However, when Enoch Burke was imprisoned for over 500 days and stripped of his livelihood after refusing to bow to transgender ideology in his school, the same ministers were mute. When the call to take a stand came to their own doorstep, they had nothing to say. Indeed, when the gross hypocrisy of Mervyn Storey was exposed, many such ministers were firmly on the other side. Many in Northern Ireland today are asking, what should we do? Some are turning to other parties such as the TUV. The simple fact is, that the TUV were not present on Friday and Saturday at the La Mon hotel to challenge the DUP. Indeed, when the Mervyn Storey revelations were made, we received a growl from many representatives of the TUV. What the Christian people of Northern Ireland must do is challenge their leaders. Challenge Paul Givan on his promotion of LGBTQ+ ideology. Challenge the hypocritical ministers who make grand statements about events far away but are on the other side when a stand is taken on their own doorstep. Do not allow your children, in the words of Scripture, to be “sacrificed to devils” (Psalm 105:37) on the altar of LGBTQ+ ideology. We will continue to challenge. We have absolute confidence that the truth will prevail.

Introducing FundByHook. A new way to support projects. No round to close. No deadline. No fundraising target. Building doesn’t stop when a funding round ends. We think funding should be able to keep going too. FundByHook is an incubator where each project gets its own token and a funding pool that stays open. People can back a project as it develops. The team draws from the pool over time to fund its work. The first fund is $RISK, the official token of FundByHook and Risk Labs, our studio. It comes with RiskLAB:500 generative compositions drawn onchain. CA: 0xbF0347cB1347B58e11Cd2Ba60854E0DD60d5F12F Here is how it works. FUNDING THAT STAYS OPEN A conventional raise has a finish line: a date, a target, a round to close. The work that follows rarely fits that calendar. On FundByHook, each pool runs through a Uniswap v4 hook. The hook controls a single liquidity position. External liquidity providers cannot add to it or pull liquidity out. You back a project by buying its token. You can sell through the same pool, subject to its available liquidity and the sell tax. The team receives funding in three ways: → 1% on buys, paid to the team → 10% of the ETH paid out by sells, paid to the team → A manual draw of 1% of the pool’s current ETH reserve, available at most once every seven days The draw does not accumulate. Waiting three weeks does not unlock three withdrawals. The team must trigger it, and each draw starts a new seven-day wait. Tokens remain in the pool. ETH leaves to fund the work. Each draw lowers the pool price slightly. After launch, the fund contracts have no admin setters, pause or upgrade functions. Only the team can trigger the draw. The funding rules stay fixed. Contracts by Tim and Risk Labs. FUND 1: $RISK $RISK has a fixed supply of 500 tokens. 400 seed the pool. It starts with no ETH: buyers bring it in. Buys move the price up; sells move it down. The remaining 100 $RISK are allocated to Risk Labs to reward people who help move our projects forward. The first 5 go out this week to people who helped move ELA forward. Those 100 tokens are not locked by code. We are responsible for how they are used. $RISK also has a visual form. RiskLAB is a collection of 500 generative compositions built from frames, cells and nodes. Both the images and their metadata are generated onchain. ONE TOKEN. ONE PIECE. With NFT mirroring enabled, each whole $RISK in your wallet corresponds to one RiskLAB piece, an ERC-721. 12.93 $RISK = 12 pieces + a 0.93-token fraction. Transfer a piece and one whole $RISK moves with it. Sell 1 $RISK from that balance and you are left with 11 pieces and 0.93 $RISK. One piece is burned; its ID can later be reissued. Your tokens and pieces are two representations of the same holding. NFT mirroring is enabled by default for ordinary wallets, and holders can change their own setting. THE PLATFORM TOKEN $RISK is the official token of FundByHook. Each fund launched on the platform will have its own token; $RISK remains the token of the platform and Risk Labs. It is also how we want holders to participate in what Risk Labs builds next. Our commitment: every future Risk Labs project will share a portion of its fees with $RISK holders. That commitment comes from the lab. It is not enforced by the $RISK contracts. The percentage, timing, eligibility and distribution mechanism are still to be defined. There is no fee-sharing mechanism live in these contracts today. On $RISK itself, all buy fees, sell taxes and team draws go to the team. THE DOOR For the first 10 blocks after the pool is seeded, buying is restricted to enlisted wallets. There is a door hidden in a site that was live long before the contract. That is all we will say. WHAT COMES NEXT $RISK is Fund 1. The next funds will come from ideas worth building, whether they come from Risk Labs or anyone else. Eventually, anyone will be able to launch a fund on FundByHook. Today, only the lab can launch. Permissionless launches are not live yet. For the lab, two rules apply: 01 / Each project must run autonomously before we start the next. 02 / Nothing launches without a good idea. $RISK remains the platform and studio token as those projects take shape. That is the experiment: Can funding stay open as long as the building does? Risk Labs starts with $RISK. What we build next has to earn your continued support. FundByHook is open now: Explore RiskLAB on FundByHook: Back the ones you believe in.

R.F. Kuang has written seven books, won the Nebula Award for Best Novel, and trained at some of the world's top universities: Cambridge, Oxford, and Yale. Her wisdom-per-word ratio is also off the charts. Some highlights from our conversation: 1) Emotions are like colors. Mix them! Emotions are never one-dimensional. Bring together fear and courage, love and revulsion, joy and panic. This collision of feelings is closer to how emotion actually works. 2) Practice literary shapeshifting. Become a new person, a new persona, and a new type of author with every project. Do not confuse your habitual voice with your authentic voice: there is no single way of constructing sentences that must define you. Treat language as a fluid and flexible tool. 3) There's no correlation between how good writing feels in the moment and the quality of the product. We mistake effortlessness for genius, flow, or divine inspiration. So don't evaluate a day’s work by the pleasure of producing it. Judge whether the sentences escaped your pre-existing patterns and helped you think something through. 4) Good writing comes from being attentive to what's happening around you and writing with specificity about those observations, rather than relying on the theoretical. Throughout the day, ask: “Where is this feeling sitting in my body? How am I physically responding to this?” Those questions force you beyond the abstract label and toward something more specific than the reader could easily imagine for themselves. 5) Use your zero draft to discover the beating heart of the story, not to prove that you can already write it. Research, brainstorm, follow your nose, and collect whatever feels surprising or “crunchy.” At this stage, coherence is less valuable than emotional resonance. 6) Draft in layers. Let the early draft remain “balls on sticks.” Add the setting, architecture, faces, furniture, and drape colors in later passes. A person’s visual appearance is often the least interesting thing about them. 7) Use the outsider’s perspective to make language strange again. Nabokov could play, stretch, and innovate with English because he was fascinated by the oddities and opportunities of particular word combinations. 8) Be suspicious of “volunteer words for volunteer thoughts.” Volunteer words are the phrases that offer themselves immediately because they are already floating around in your head. They repeat common discourse and carry ideas that are easy to digest; you are filling the page from your pre-existing dataset rather than articulating something you have actually observed or thought through. 9) If you're stuck, put the subconscious to work. Open a blank document, type a title, word, or phrase, then save and close it. Return after the problem has had time to work on you in the background. 10) Serious writing doesn't require solemnity. Soaring observations about history or human nature can sit beside potty jokes. 11) AI can offer readily available words for readily available thoughts, but readily available thoughts do not push boundaries. It may reproduce impressive human patterns, but “you won’t get your next Pale Fire from an LLM.” 12) Thinking about the audience as you write a first draft is a death sentence. The moment you start writing while looking over your shoulder, you stop taking the story where it needs to go. Timestamps: 0:29 Writing your emotions 6:44 Observing people 15:20 Why easy writing doesn't work 23:09 Building unique voices for each book 30:47 What Kuang learned from debate 32:52 Why primary sources matter 35:33 AI & writing 40:54 How to start a book 45:16 Trust your subconscious 50:25 Copy the writers you love 52:57 Being goofy 57:34 Find a driving question 1:01:36 What every writer needs to learn 01:04:38 Book and movie recommendations I've shared the full conversation with R.F. Kuang below. If you'd rather watch the full thing on YouTube, or listen to it all on Apple / Spotify, check out the reply tweets. Enjoy!

Marathon | Ultimate Overview, Gameplay, Hands-On Impressions ▪️Team based extraction shooter set on Tau Ceti IV, scavenge remains of a lost colony for glory and fortune ▪️Launch: Coming to PS5, Xbox and PC on September 23 ▪️Will be a "premium" product, meaning not F2P ▪️"Weapons and movement feels crisp, fluid, and incredibly satisfying in that rarified way that few studios can achieve" ▪️3 maps, 6 runner classes at launch, more to follow post-launch ▪️Plans to support the game with new maps, weapons, characters, and more as it goes on ▪️Ranked play, end game challenges, seasonal storytelling, secrets to discover, community events all in Season One with more content coming ▪️You play as a "runner", cybernetic mercenary who's given up their human form for a bio-synthetic shell with unique abilities and stats ▪️Runner Types: "Locus" is a soldier class for pushing forward, can use a shield, "Void" is stealth, sneak by undetected, use smoke grenades, "Blackbird" is reconnaissance based, find players, positioning, and more ▪️Uncover secrets hidden in the wake of the original Marathon trilogy's events - how and where this overlaps or clashes with the original games "is a story that will unfold over time" ▪️Objective is to get in, get as much loot as you can, and get out alive ▪️If you die, your gear and loot will be up for grabs. Survive and you can take your gear with you on future runs as you grow in power and fill your vault ▪️Fight in a crew of up to 3 players, various map sizes up to 18 players ▪️PvP + PvE, battle other players, security forces, and "otherworldly threats" ▪️Contextual pings, shared objectives, down-but-not-out mechanics ▪️Environments are filled with weapons, materials, items, resources, cores, keys, backpacks, secrets etc to find You can find things like backpacks that expand your inventory, powerful and unique weapons, consumables to heal yourself, ▪️Select your runner, strategically build your loadouts pre-match ▪️Factions in the game can sponsor you and your loadout ▪️You have the freedom to opt out of crew fill and take all the glory for yourself as a solo runner ▪️"This is probably the best-looking, best-feeling extraction shooter ever made", not easy for newcomers to the genre, can be tough to get into, but one previewer was "reluctant to put Marathon down. This is a good sign – the best thing I can say after any preview is that I want more – but big questions remain" ▪️No two matches ever play out the same, dynamic events, variable weather, unpredictable players etc ▪️Customization: Each Runner "brings their own flair", but serve as foundations to customize your playstyle - collect implants and equipment to augment your Runner, like stacking implants/upgrades to reduce heat build-up to allow you to keep running, jumping, sliding longer ▪️Contracts: "Ingenious" incentives, finish contracts you accept for permanent upgrades to your stats, add precious items like grenades, shields, inventory-expanding backpacks, etc to your market. The bigger your market, the better your minimum loadout becomes ▪️Contracts provide "valuable direction", bring welcome diversity and add a "precious hit of semi-permanent progression" ▪️Prestige Cores: Rare items that can "really push the boundaries" (ex: Glitch has an upgrade that turns double jump into triple jump for more manueverability) ▪️Another rare item is a backpack that turns you invisible while interacting with containers (very useful when everyone on the map is hunting you) ▪️Each match "feels like the most important one ever", high stakes, "surprisingly challenging AI enemies" that were "much, much better at surrounding and overwhelming players than the vast majority of AI enemies found in other games" ▪️Having a balanced crew helps in exploring the "dark and forgotten places" in maps - filled with deadly creatures like a species of giant ticks who swarm you frantically ▪️Battles can become frantic as you encounter other crews, stalk them across the map, encounter AI enemies to fend off when others come to claim your loot (one preview battle turned into a 9 player free-for-all) ▪️Downside could be the reward system where skilled players enter fresh matches with high level gear that outmatches less skilled players, though Bungie says it has gone out of its way to try and make it where a poorly equipped squad can still stand a chance if they play well ▪️Even if you die, you can can still get upgrades, improve your reputation with factions, advance in perk trees, etc by completing various quests, looting chests, or fulfilling specific objectives which unlock new bits of story and can grant perks like buying slightly better gear from vendors ▪️"The world Bungie has built is every bit as beautiful as it is creepy and dystopian, and there are moments where they satisfyingly hint at the events of the Marathon trilogy from the ‘90s", though "what little I saw did only slightly more than pay lip service to the world" ▪️Uses the seasonal reset model like in Diablo 4, where players are stripped of their loot and progress at the end of each season to mix things up with new content and new meta ▪️Game is designed to get you killed, Bungie expects average exfiltration rates to be comfortably below 50% ▪️"You will lose a lot, and losing hurts a lot[...]Extracts are snapshots of this unpredictability. That white-knuckle countdown may become a gut-punch defeat, an unforgettable clutch, a desperate last-second dive into the portal as your downed allies watch in envy and horror (couldn't be me), or an unnerving anticlimax. It's not always a pleasant one, but it is a strong emotional hook" ▪️Some previewers worried about variety, weren't impressed with the objectives in the alpha, like hunting computer monitors on the map, sprinting over, marking dropships, sprinting over, and repeating, though random events help spice things up ▪️Not a 20-map game says Bungie, map design "does have that sticky battle royale quality of generating memories", though still worried 3-4 medium sized maps might not be enough ▪️Bungie's "verbiage" on updates sounds like possibly 1 new map a year + refreshing existing ones in between, which could work in its favor pushing players to really learn maps, but will they hold up over hundreds of hours? ▪️Fights are decided by gun skill, clever ability use, map awareness, how strong your shield is, how many healing supplies you have, etc ▪️Example: If you have one bar of shield and enemy has four, you'll lose 1v1, but change it up with powerful grenades, status effects like toxic or overheat, backpacks are "transformative", etc Gameplay Trailer ▶️ Gameplay Overview ▶️ PS Blog ➡️ IGN ➡️ GamesRadar ➡️ ▶️
