My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I speak to you today with a heart weighed down by grief, yet burning with a call to love, compassion, and truth. Before us is a brother, one of us who stood helpless on a dark day when evil showed its cruel face. He begged, not for riches, not for power, but for mercy… mercy for his family. Imagine it, dear saints. Imagine standing there, powerless, as your loved ones cry out. Imagine hearing the voices of your wife, your children, your relatives screaming, pleading, calling on God, while you can do nothing but weep and pray. Imagine watching the people you love most beg for their lives, only to watch those voices fade… one after another… until silence falls. A silence so loud it pierces the soul. This brother watched his family breathe their last breath before his eyes after the Fulani herdsmen attack. He survived, not because he was stronger, but because God still had a testimony to tell through him. His heart now carries wounds no medicine can fully heal. The Bible says: “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:17–18) Beloved, this is not just a story, it is a living pain among us. This brother is the Good Samaritan’s wounded man lying by the roadside of our generation. Jesus asked a question that still echoes today: Who will stop? Who will care? “When one part of the body suffers, every part suffers with it.” (1 Corinthians 12:26) If one Christian bleeds, we all bleed. If one family is destroyed, the Church must not be silent. The blood of the innocent cries out, just as Abel’s blood cried from the ground. “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10) This brother’s life is now a living cry, crying for comfort, crying for justice, crying for love. Jesus Himself warned us that the world would be cruel, but He also commanded us to be His hands and feet. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) How will that comfort come, dear brethren? It comes when the Church rises. It comes when we pray, when we give, when we stand with those who can no longer stand on their own. True Christianity is not only spoken from the pulpit; it is lived in compassion. “Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress.” (James 1:27) This brother is now surrounded by memories of screams, fear, and loss. Trauma has become his daily companion. Yet the Word of God gives us hope: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5) Beloved, let us be the morning God sends into his night. Let us not harden our hearts when we hear such cries. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) Today, I plead with you, not as a man, but as a brother in Christ. Open your hearts. Pray for him. Stand with him. Support him. Let the love of Christ flow through us, so that even in the ashes of tragedy, hope can still rise. May the God of all comfort strengthen this brother. May the Lord heal his broken heart, restore what was stolen by violence, and remind him that though his family is gone, he is not alone. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14) May God awaken His Church to love in action, in Jesus’ mighty name. Heartbroken beyond words 💔 Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.😢 This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.🥹 While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe. Yesterday, H.E. John Dramani Mahama was in my beloved Ningo-Prampram Constituency - Afienya to be precise to cut sod for the start of his audacious US$10 billion Big Push Initiative. To be the first project warms my heart and speaks volumes of his unwavering commitment to our Constituency. In this first phase, 32 roads across the Country have been earmarked for completion within 24 months. I am delighted that 4 of 32 roads are in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency. The Tema Roundabout - Central University road, the Dawhenya - Afienya - Dodowa road, the Ashaiman Roundabout - Asikuma Junction road and the Afienya - Appolonia - Oyibi road have all been captured, awarded, and work is commencing. My joy is boundless. These roads have been a source of constant pain and worry during my first two terms serving as Member of Parliament, and despite my best efforts in 8 years under then President Nana Akufo-Addo, we had no joy nor glimmer of hope. However, these projects have come to light in barely 8 months of the Hope Giver, the Nation Builder, the Promise Keeper - John Dramani Mahama. Look I’m not trying to be weird or assume but there is a mama mountain lion and her grown cubs who are casing every nearby property..They have been here about a year and we’ve done all we can to protect our livestock , of course it’s not perfect and if they are hungry they find a way… We can’t seem to “get them” if you catch my drift.. no one can for some reason. Every few days on the Nextdoor app we hear of livestock k*lled (BIG livestock too) the county has tried to catch them at night to no avail.. we were looking at who has been hit within 3 miles around us. LITERALLY everyone I’m not exaggerating. Every single farm and maybe even some who haven’t posted about it …. Some of them have more livestock dogs than we have. We have 2 , and they have scared off a mountain lion one time (miraculous) and “ended”coyotes(job well done🫡) On to my point….. They haven’t hit us (please know I’m not being cocky and I know it could happen ) but what may be different here is that every night without fail when we pray in total belief that God will hear us at dinner or when we feed them…we pray over their enclosures, we pray over our whole property…we ask God to put a wall of protection around our whole perimeter since attacks are so common. We have seen videos of the mountain lions on the cam walking right past the outer livestock fence… never even venturing to come in. I absolutely believe God hears our prayers, I absolutely believe God protects our beloved farm, because he cares for his creation… all of it (especially the ones I love so much and the ones who bring us income)

BREAKING: CRUEL DEATH OF ELDERLY MAN RAISED IN HIGH COURT We previously reported the death of our neighbour who went into hospital with a treatable condition but died after he was routinely drugged on sedatives and antipsychotic drugs including Haloperidol. Jemima Burke was present in the High Court in December when Judge Barry O’Donnell granted all orders sought by the HSE in relation to our neighbour to sanction their treatment of this vulnerable man. The Orders allowed for our neighbour to be non-consensually injected with medication, including a number of potent anti-psychotic drugs, Haloperidol being one of them. Jemima Burke informed Judge Barry O’Donnell in December that her family had cared for our neighbour for years. We had major concerns about his treatment at Mayo University Hospital. She pleaded with him not to make the orders. He refused to have regard to her concerns. He sanctioned the administration of not just one, but a number of anti-psychotic drugs. Judge O’Donnell instructed Jemima Burke to liaise with Mr Adrian Lennon, the Guardian Ad Litem he had appointed. This is a well paid position with solicitors getting thousands of euros for the role. He told her that Mr Lennon was “a very experienced and independent practitioner.” He said that relevant information she raised with Mr Lennon would be brought before the court. Jemima Burke acted on the Judge’s instructions. She wrote to Mr Lennon by post and email. She never received a response. Mr Lennon stands to receive thousands of euro for his role as GAL in this situation, a role he abused in flagrant disregard for our beloved neighbour who has died before his time. Mr Lennon stonewalled our every effort to raise urgent concerns, refusing to even acknowledge them. Today when we raised our concerns in the High Court over the conduct of Mr Lennon Judge Barry O’Donnell refused to listen. He vociferously defended Mr Lennon describing him as an experienced and highly regarded practitioner. He showed complete disregard for the concerns raised. In early December Judge Barry O’Donnell stated he was granting the Orders to Mayo University Hospital to ensure that our neighbour did not die before his time. The truth is: our family visited our neighbour in hospital every day, for hours at a time, morning and evening. There was no improvement in his condition but rather an unspeakable decline. Our neighbour was starved, dehydrated and left to die on a hospital bed. We regularly observed him in a stupor, with meals of stew and curry left by his bedside untouched. He died only days after Judge O’Donnell’s Orders were handed down. We have raised serious concerns with Judge O’Donnell today but the truth is he showed no concern whatsoever. Instead he praised to high heaven the Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) Adrian Lennon who acted hand in glove with the hospital in the administration of highly potent anti-psychotic drugs which ultimately led to our neighbour’s organ failure and death. The utterly appalling treatment of vulnerable elderly people in hospital wards and nursing homes must continue to be exposed.

Yesterday, I was deeply honored to deliver the opening invocation at the graduation ceremony of the university where I serve. It was more than a speech — it was a prayer, a moment to pause and honor the sacred journey each soul has taken to arrive at this milestone. As I share the video and full text below, I do so with a heart full of prayers and love for all our dear brothers and sisters graduating this season — wherever you are. May your path ahead be filled with light, meaning, and gentle guidance. May Allah bless your journey ahead. Congratulations, Class of 2025. *** Full Text of My Commencement Invocation Dear Class of 2025, beloved families, devoted faculty, and cherished friends — May peace and blessings be upon you all. My name is Osman Simsek, and I serve as the Director of Muslim Life at Trinity College. It is both a profound privilege and a deeply humbling honor to offer today’s invocation as we mark this extraordinary milestone together. Long before we opened our eyes to this world, we were souls — breathed into existence by the Divine. From the unseen world, we were carried gently into this life through our mothers, entering this Earth not as owners, but as guests on a sacred journey. Each of us carries within a memory of that origin — a longing for the eternal, even as we walk the temporary course of this world. Your time at Trinity has been more than a chapter in your academic life. It has been a station on your soul’s journey — a place where you grew not only in knowledge, but in wisdom, patience, and awareness of who you are becoming. And now, as you prepare to step into the next chapter, degrees in hand and dreams in heart, I celebrate you — not only for what you’ve achieved, but for the resilience, compassion, and light you carry forward. Along the way, we come to realize something beautiful: that being human means welcoming all that life brings. We are not just travelers — we are hosts to every feeling, every thought, every joy, every sorrow. In this spirit, I share with you the words of a beloved 13th-century poet and spiritual teacher, Jalaluddin Rumi — who reminds us of the sacredness of being fully human: "The Guest House" This being human is a guest house. Every morning, a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness — some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. They may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice — meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. May our hearts be just like that house — open, hospitable, and tender. Hearts that do not break when sorrow enters, and do not cling when joy arrives. Hearts that hold space for everyone — because in the house of love, there must always be a chair for every soul. May we seek purpose beyond ambition, and meaning beyond achievement. 🐾 💔Today, my beloved Tiki, my loyal companion for nearly 18 years, has crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈 🐾 My heart is shattered, and the depth of my sorrow is beyond words. The void left behind is truly indescribable. We found out in mid-August that Tiki had a cancerous tumor in his lung and there was nothing they could do for him. It would be weeks, not months. It was devastating news. But were weren’t ready to give up on him and Tiki wasn’t ready to go yet either. I’m incredibly grateful to my mom and stepdad for helping us give Tiki the best care possible during his final weeks. Thanks to their tireless efforts, we were able to have a few more weeks with him than anyone expected. They are the best caretakers anyone could ask for. Tiki was such a little warrior through it all, even until his last breath. He held on through our anniversary and my birthday, almost as if he wanted to give me one last celebration with him. But today, he let us know, it was time. Nothing prepares you for their departure from your life, especially when they’ve been a part of it for so long. Tiki was there for every milestone of my life for the last 18 years, most importantly when I first met my husband. Many know the story of how he infamously had to pass the “Tiki Test” when we first starting dating and thankfully he did with flying colors! When Tiki crawled up on his lap the first time he met him, I knew he was the one. Tiki chose him too! They became best buddies. Tiki travelled to so many places with me over the years …from late nights in my Capitol Hill office to our road trips back and forth to Jersey in his Giants gear and trips down the shore, to flying back and forth to the Florida Keys (where my mom originally rescued him from and brought him to me) to Harvard for my resident fellowship, to my first apartment to our first house…Tiki has been a part of it all. So many wonderful memories captured over the years that I will cherish forever. Tiki was the coolest, most extraodinary cat and everyone loved him. Although the time with our four legged family members is never long enough…Tiki’s spirit, unconditional love and the joy he brought to my life and Marcelle’s will live on forever in our hearts. He’ll always be a part of me. Having the “Tikster” as my little buddy for all these years will always be one of my greatest blessings. I know he’s up there in kitty heaven enjoying endless “somethings” and purring away. Even though losing Tiki today feels like a piece of my heart has been taken, I find solace in the belief that one day we will be reunited in heaven, where he will greet me with the same warmth and affection and “kissies” he shared with us in life; until then, I will keep his memory alive, embracing the bond and unconditional love we shared every day.
