‼️‼️🇺🇦 BIG | Ukraine has officially confirmed that its ASC 890 airborne early-warning aircraft are already flying combat missions, giving Kyiv a powerful new layer of battlefield awareness and pushing its Air Force further toward a genuinely NATO-standard, networked architecture. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence says the transfer of the aircraft was announced in May 2024, confirmed in August 2025, and followed by the first recorded ASC 890 combat sorties over Ukraine in March 2026. The ministry says that, operating alongside F-16s, Mirage 2000s and Gripens, the platform forms the foundation of a modern network-centric air-combat system built to NATO standards. Ukraine has two ASC 890 aircraft, capable of detecting and tracking large numbers of aerial targets across a wide area. The importance of the ASC 890 goes far beyond adding another aircraft type to Ukraine’s inventory. Its real value is in connecting sensors, fighters and command systems into a common battlespace picture, allowing Ukrainian aviation to detect threats earlier and coordinate engagements more effectively. With Ukraine now integrating F-16s and Mirage 2000s while preparing for a growing Gripen fleet, the ASC 890 is becoming one of the key enablers of a fundamentally different Ukrainian Air Force, one increasingly designed around Western interoperability rather than the Soviet-era model it inherited.
