I heat my home with wood that I fell on our property. I buck and chop by hand. Tough ones take a heavy maul or rarely a splitting wedge. His swing is all wrong. He is hitting the wrong part of the log with the wrong part of his axe. Im surprised he didn’t bust out a brand new red flannel for his failed lumberjack workout video. Also, when they bounce like that, letting the wood dry out more is helpful too. This is the tool I use to open up the big ones -
