This didn’t age well. Remember when Governor Mikie Sherrill scoffed at the idea of NJ schools looking like Louisiana or Mississippi? Fast forward. New Jersey is now #30 in student growth, FAR BEHIND Louisiana, Mississippi, and 27 other states. According to Laura Waters in NJ Ed Report : She writes: “According to the rankings, New Jersey is ranked #30 in student growth, despite massive spending from the state (projected to be $12.4 billion next year, a 3.1% increase from last year, plus a big chunk of your property taxes).” “The drop for NJ eighth graders in reading was especially precipitous, 3.8 points, one of the worst performances among all states, and proficiency scores in the other subjects — fourth grade reading and math and eighth grade math — dropped about one point.” “In contrast, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee saw increases in proficiency in every subject. In Louisiana, fourth graders increased scores in math by almost six points and 3.7 points in reading.” She also points to a mix of causes (might I add spearheaded by the Democrat Majority and supported by the NJEA) for NJ's massive decline: lowered standards that mask reality, long school closures, lack of accountability, grade inflation, and a system focused on inputs instead of results. How'd that work? • Asbury Park – 12.6% of 4th graders reading at grade level • Trenton (Thomas Jefferson School) – 2.8% • Newark (Grover Cleveland School) – 6% of 4th graders proficient in math • Camden (Cooper’s Poynt School) – 0% proficiency in math Stop defending the indefensible. You can’t spin it, you can’t excuse it, and you can’t throw more money at it. This morning, I conducted an unannounced inspection at Queens College, Yaba, Lagos, to assess its current infrastructure, leadership, and the welfare of the students. Upon my arrival at 7:45 AM, I was pleased to see the majority of students lining up for assembly, with both the academic and non-academic staff, including the principal, already present and ready to begin the school day. During my visit, I held separate discussions with students, teachers, and the principal to better understand their challenges and needs. It is clear that the school requires significant infrastructural improvements to adequately and safely accommodate its students and staff. Queens College, established almost 100 years ago, has long surpassed its original capacity. To ensure that our students benefit from an appropriate student-to-teacher ratio, sufficient resources, and adequate facilities for boarding and feeding, we must maintain a standard capacity across all Unity Schools and Federal Government Colleges. In line with our commitment to promoting quality assurance in education, the Federal Ministry of Education will collaborate with Principal Obabori and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to redesign, refurbish, and build new facilities at Queens College, including a library, dining areas, hostels, and classrooms. Over the next several months, I will be conducting unannounced visits to other Unity Schools and Federal Colleges. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mission for the education sector is simple: to provide better education for all. This is the goal that the Ministry and I are dedicated to achieving. I extend my thanks to the principal, teachers, and students for their warm reception and look forward to working with the school’s leadership to ensure better pay and welfare packages for our teachers and improved educational outcomes for our students. #EducationForAll

Funny how the math is never there for anything MAGA wants, yet somehow the math always works out for judges Bush and Clinton got confirmed by voice vote decades ago. Here's the truth nobody in Washington wants to say out loud. Thune isn't an accident. He's a McConnell protege who climbed to power the same way McConnell always operated, by protecting the institution instead of the movement that built the majority. Cornyn was cut from the same cloth. Same instincts. Same reflex to play defense for the swamp instead of offense for the country. Texas voters saw it and ended his career. Paxton beat him by more than twenty points. But here's the uncomfortable question. If we replace Thune tomorrow, who takes his place? A 53 seat majority still needs 60 votes for most legislation. If the next senators in line are cut from the same establishment cloth as Thune and Cornyn, we haven't fixed anything. We've just changed the face on the podium. The real fight isn't one man. It's a Senate culture that treats the filibuster like sacred scripture while the country burns. Until primary voters send true America First fighters to Washington in bulk, not just one or two at a time, the swamp will keep finding a new Thune every single time. Draining the swamp was never a one man job. It's a decade long war, and the RINOs are counting on us getting tired first.

Congress responded the only way they could: they sent their MLAs to a resort in Karnataka to stop any possibility of cross-voting. But on 9 June, during scrutiny, Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination was rejected after BJP pointed out omissions in her affidavit regarding a civil case. With only three valid candidates left for three seats, BJP swept all of them. Mohan Yadav’s confidence wasn’t arrogance , it was clarity. He knew exactly how this was going to play out. Sorry, no time to sleep: I’ve discovered all these cool new sounds I can make. 🗣️ As infants grow it’s not uncommon for their sleep patterns to be interrupted in association with the achievement of new developmental milestones. These sleep regressions can be especially pronounced in association with big breakthroughs in language and motor development. Learning to roll over and pull to a stand, for example, both offer your little one a whole new set of options in the crib. No longer immobile, now there are new abilities to practice… and new vantage points from which to view the world. I mean, who needs sleep when there’s a whole world to discover? Similarly the emergence of vocal experimentation and babbling offer new opportunities for bedtime amusement. As the caption notes, Mom might have preferred some rest time, but I loved watching this little one - age three months - working to master new sounds. The good news is that sleep regressions rarely last long. And as frustrating as a vocal performance might be at 3am, remember that these interruptions are important indicators of your baby’s development. Hills I will die on as an elementary school teacher, who just wrapped up my 32nd year teaching! 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. The legacy you leave as a teacher will never be determined by your student’s test scores, but by the human beings you helped them become throughout their lives.
