Big News! 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗢𝗡 Windy.com⚡️🌩️ We're thrilled to announce our collaboration with bringing you a real-time #lightning overlay with GLOBAL coverage. Explore more:

The coverage of the lightning detection network is global. However, there are still a few limitations. Marginal coverage is over the Pacific Ocean, the eastern part of the Indian Ocean, and the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean.

An excellent update to what is already a great app.

Very useful tool for the airmen. 👨‍✈️

Thank you 😍 I think the color needs to be changed, it is not clear in white. I also wish to add a special icon for lightning, meaning it is not required with the clouds layer. It can be with a blank map.

Not a fan of the new data provider. Tracked storms that blew through Phoenix a couple weeks ago, with LightningMaps side-by-side with Nowcast. Aside from missing the thunder rings, Nowcast didn't show as many strikes as LM, even missing ones I could see and hear from the window.
