Big Ole Cottonmouth

There are those who will tell you cottonmouth’s aren’t aggressive and won’t take an offensive attack stance (access your boat from water or tree) don’t fool yourself. They’re territorial and mean. Some more than others. Beware.

Pro Tip: Be careful around the base of Cypress trees if you’re in the water. Those Cottonmouths and Moccasins love hiding up inside them and under the bow of a beached boat. I shot a few in my day in North FL

Omg, an anaconda cottonmouth. I was fishing with my Dad in the basin one time and an older couple were in another boat not too far from us. They were beneath a big ole willow tree. Welp, the snake dropped into the boat and they both bailed into the water. We had to go fish em out and get the snake out of their boat. It was just a water snake though, which made the whole ordeal pretty darn funny.

I grew up in Florida and I've seen pretty big cotton mouths... that thing is a freak of nature 🤣
