Supreme Court is finally hearing petitions challenging the law on appointment of election commissioners. The matter has been pending in the SC since January 2024. In the meantime, current CEC, Gyanesh Kumar, and 2 Election Commmioners were appointed. After the Constitution bench judgment in the Anoop Baranwal case in 2023, the BJP govt had brought the law to replace the CJI with a cabinet minister on the selection panel for appointing Election Commissioners. With a 2:1 majority, the law empowers the ruling party to select candidates of its choice as Chief & commissioners of the ECI. Hope the SC upholds the letter and spirit of its landmark 2023 judgment.

In spite of all the measures taken for free and fair elections in West Bengal by the Election Commission of India, a section of government officials have colluded with the All India Trinamool Congress leaders and working under the instructions of I-PAC. It has been clearly stated by the ECI that no contractual staff can be appointed in the electoral process but reliable sources have informed that contractual staff have been appointed as Data Entry Operators in Rashtraguru Surendra Nath College, Barrackpore Counting Centre to manipulate the tabulation of votes in favour of TMC Candidates. Sukarna Roy and Suman have been issued Identity cards as Data Entry Operators (D.E.O.) for the counting duty. It is a clear violation of the instructions of the ECI. On our complaint, the teachers namely Balaram Sarkar, Safikuddin and Subhrangshu Sinha were kept out of election duty because of their direct association/proximity with the TMC but surprisingly, these persons have been assigned works on the counting day. The responsible officials with an intention to vitiate the objective of the ECI, must be booked and dealt strongly should be taken against them. TMC has appointed Ex- DGP and its Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Kumar as party observer for Barrackpore and Dum Dum Organisational District Committees with an intention to influence the counting machinery with his notorious ‘technical surveillance and data hacking’ expertise. In the chit fund scam, he had removed the crucial documents to save Mamata Banerjee and TMC leaders and so he has been awarded a Rajya Sabha seat. That is why, just in the press conference, we replied that this was basically the strategy of the BJP that on the day of the poll, first phase or the second phase, they would provoke the other political parties. MiLords must understand that if Judiciary is an Independent Institution, so is ECI. It's better if it stops interfering in other's jurisdiction.

Big Cleanup in Bengal 📌500,000 illegal OBC certificates suspended 📌CPIM, TMC unconstitutionally added around 161 castes in OBC list. Of these only 4 were Hindu castes; rest 157 were all Muslim. 📌But 20,000 Muslims who got jobs via this order to stay, says SC Sourav Kumar Mishra explains how the CPM and then TMC tried everything to mariginalise Bengali Hindus and turn Bengal into Bangladesh. In 2010, when the CPIM government realised they were going to lose the 2011 assembly elections, the communists added 42 castes into the OBC list. This was done unconstitutionally without any surveys. Among these 42 castes, there was only one Hindu caste; the rest 41 were Muslim. In 2011, when Mamata Banerjee's TMC came to power, instead of cancelling the order, they doubled down and added 77 castes in the OBC list. Of these, just 2 were Hindu castes, and 75 were Muslim. Later, the TMC added another 42 castes into the OBC list. Of these, just 3 were Hindus, the rest were all Muslim. Ordinary citizens like Amal Chandra Das and Nilmadhab Karmakar filed PILs to protect the rights of Hindus. The High Court cancelled the new additions into the OBC list. In response, the TMC decided to waste the public's money and appealed in the Supreme Court. The apex court upheld the HC order. However, the Supreme Court gave respite to 20,000 (99% Muslim) employees who got jobs via the CPIM and TMC's illegal orders. That means 20,000 deserving Hindus were deprived of Government jobs because of the Muslim appeasement policy of the CPIM and TMC. These 20,000 undeserving employees who illegally entered the system continue to hold their jobs.

We do not yet have the full copy of the judgment, but I can share what we submitted to the Court. Our essential argument was that a person who has converted from an SC/ST background into Christianity cannot claim the benefits or protections of the Act... The Court was categorical: once someone converts to Christianity, caste benefits cannot apply, because Christianity does not recognise caste. The decision is also rooted in the 1950 Presidential Order, which has long been part of the statute book. The judgment clearly defines who is entitled to claim benefits under the Act and who is not. Of course, a review petition remains an option, but as of today, the matter stands settled. In this particular case, the individual was a pastor who had converted, and our submission was that he could not take advantage of SC/ST protections..."

They have literally formed a Control Room at Kalighat and WhatsApp Groups at local levels to monitor the Voting Process of the Police Personnel who would be casting their votes on the Postal Ballots. The team of Santanu Sinha Biswas; Coordinator and Bijitaswa Rout; Convenor of Kolkata & West Bengal Police Welfare Committee have been allocated the task to ensure that all the Votes cast by the Police Personnel are in the favour of the TMC Party. The Police Personnel can't even exercise their free will and vote for a Candidate whom they personally want to vote for. The West Bengal Police Welfare Committee is nothing but just an extension of the TMC, as if, it is the unofficial Union of the Police Personnel, bearing allegiance to the TMC Party.
