$It’s outrageous that President Donald Trump has threatened to sue the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), say many in the media. “You have to admire the chutzpah,” wrote one columnist. “Donald Trump describing the BBC as ‘corrupt’ while threatening to take legal action….The man has never been known for his self-awareness, so it’s safe to say the irony has almost certainly passed him by.” But there is no question that BBC employees deliberately manipulated Trump’s remarks on January 6, 2021, to make it sound like he had encouraged violence. An independent outside auditor, Michael Prescott, wrote a major report on the BBC’s bias, which concluded that the BBC had “spliced together two clips” to create “the impression that Trump said something he did not and, in doing so, materially misled viewers.” Americans might think this story doesn’t concern them because it’s about a British media company. Few Americans listen to the BBC. But the story is highly relevant to Americans because US news media companies are guilty of manipulating their coverage of Trump, transgenderism, and race in nearly identical ways as the BBC. And given the BBC’s longstanding reputation as one of the most credible news organizations in the world, Prescott’s independent report has rightly sparked a major international media discussion. Over the weekend, the BBC’s CEO and its Director-General both stepped down. “The Future of the BBC is Now in Doubt,” writes Tim Stanley, an influential columnist, in the Daily Telegraph. Prescott’s report should inspire reform-minded owners of US news media companies to clean up their act. For example, CNN falsely claimed that January 6 was an “insurrection” that resulted in the deaths of five people and did a similarly manipulative edit of Trump’s speech, noted an investigator on X, MAZE. “It may not be technically as bad as what the BBC did,” he noted, “because there was a quick flash transition, but the goal was the same. Make the speech sound worse than it was. Take everything out of context and put it together in an order that makes it sound as bad as possible.” Last year, we criticized CNN and other news media for deliberately twisting the meaning of Trump’s remarks about Liz Cheney for being a war hawk, and Prescott makes the same observation. “Mr. Trump was clearly criticising politicians who readily send US troops to war without thinking about the human cost,” he notes. Last year, the BBC’s Director General, Tim Davie, said, “Disinformation, propaganda, and partial news is [sic] weakening our shared understanding of the world, undermining trust in our institutions and our democratic process,” shortly after the BBC had buried a large package of investigative stories on the problems with giving children and adolescents puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. BBC’s first “disinformation” reporter, Mariana Spring, apologized in 2023 after she was caught lying on her resume. Spring remains employed at BBC as its “Social Media Investigations Senior Correspondent.” Prescott described how BBC Verify spread misinformation. “BBC audiences were being encouraged to believe Britain’s major insurers were, intentionally or unintentionally, racist and charging high prices to customers based on their ethnicity,” notes Prescott. “The central claim implied causation, (that being an ethnic minority resulted in you being charged more), but the reporting and commentary did not consider other issues that can affect insurance charges.” Adds Prescott, “the entire report was taken down, which I understand is very rare. It had taken six months for the BBC to take decisive action about a story that was not fit for purpose and spread damaging misinformation. As far as I know, no one has ever been disciplined for this hugely embarrassing episode and worrying questions remain.” Another example of the BBC’s bias concerned a major story about doctors causing serious harm to children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults. Readers of Public will recall that in the Spring of last year, we released documents, The WPATH Files, which a whistleblower had given to us. “In March 2024,” writes Prescott, “there was widespread media coverage of leaked documents from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health [WPATH] which raised concerns about the quality of care given to gender-distressed children. It was picked up by the Mail, Economist, Observer, Washington Post, the Times, and others, but not the BBC.” Prescott points out other examples of the BBC's censorship and bias on transgenderism. It refused to cover detransitioners, people who regretted taking hormones or receiving surgeries in an attempt to change their sex or gender. It didn’t cover a major lawsuit by a group of nurses after their hospital allowed a man to use their changing room. And, beyond WPATH, the BBC gave little to no coverage of the trans medical scandal, even though the UK government has banned puberty blockers. By contrast, the BBC produced “a surprisingly high number of stories about drag queens,” celebrated a male wrestler who competed in the women’s category, and published an article last year headlined, “Transgender woman guilty of rape after night out.” Wrote the reporter, “Lexi Secker, 35, of Lowbourne, near Melksham, was living as a man when she attacked a woman in Blunsdon, Wiltshire, on 23 April 2023.” More information about the scandal may come out. Just today, Cath Leng, BBC’s former chief writer, says she was “forced out” in 2023 after 25 years because she was critical of transgender ideology. Prescott identified other areas of bias, including on race and the war in Gaza, all of which pointed to a single significant underlying problem. “My view is that the Executive repeatedly failed to implement measures to resolve highlighted problems, and in many cases simply refused to acknowledge there was an issue at all,” he writes. “Indeed, I would argue that the Executive’s attitude when confronted with evidence of serious and systemic problems is now a systemic problem in itself - meaning the last recourse for action is the Board.” All of this is deeply damaging to the BBC, regardless of whether Trump decides to sue it. “BBC staff have destroyed their own trump card in future negotiations over the licence fee,” writes Stanley at the Daily Telegraph. “The problem is this: in the modern, post-TV world, the licence fee is entirely unjustifiable. A lot of my friends are artists, like Timethai and P'Pae, who are musicians. They've spent years building up their experience. Even Gawin himself has been playing music since he was a teenager, since he was a kid. 🐻: But for me, I had only recently started trying and learning. A lot of the time, it didn't feel natural. It wasn't something I could just do right away. I had to practice, practice, and practice again and agian. When I first started taking lessons, there were still times when I'd sing off key or dance out of rhythm. So I felt like everything was moving so slowly. I was starting late, after all. 🐻: But as I kept practicing more and more, I gradually became more confident. Still, there was always a small part of me that wondered, because I'd never performed on a big stage before. I didn't know what it would be like. Would I be able to handle the nerves? What if I made a mistake? What would happen then? 🐻: It took time. In the end, my friends and the people close to me helped me realize that it was all just part of the experience. Whatever is going to happen will happen. I remember talking to Gawin about how I still wasn't confident that I could do it. I already knew that no matter what, I was going to have to get on that stage. But at that time, I felt like I didn't really belong there. Maybe because I came from an acting background. 🐻: I also had a lot of worries. A lot of my friends are artists, like Timethai and P'Pae, who are musicians. They've spent years building up their experience. Even Gawin himself has been playing music since he was a teenager, since he was a kid. 🐻: But for me, I had only recently started trying and learning. A lot of the time, it didn't feel natural. It wasn't something I could just do right away. I had to practice, practice, and practice again and agian. When I first started taking lessons, there were still times when I'd sing off key or dance out of rhythm. So I felt like everything was moving so slowly. I was starting late, after all. 🐻: But as I kept practicing more and more, I gradually became more confident. Still, there was always a small part of me that wondered, because I'd never performed on a big stage before. I didn't know what it would be like. Would I be able to handle the nerves? What if I made a mistake? What would happen then? 🐻: It took time. In the end, my friends and the people close to me helped me realize that it was all just part of the experience. Whatever is going to happen will happen. I feel lucky to have people around me who made me feel comfortable enough to just go for it. 🐻: And we practiced so much that, for some songs, it became second nature to me. That's when I started thinking, Okay, maybe I started later than other people, but if I put in enough practice and give myself enough time, I can do it. 🐻: Then when the day finally came and I actually did it, I really could do it. Even though there were mistakes and it wasn't perfect, I still felt like, Wow, I actually did a good job. And when I got feedback from my friends, the fans, and the seniors who told me they were very surprised that I was able to do this well, I thought, Okay... yeah, it's difficult. But it's not impossible. 🎙: Everything is possible. Anything is possible. Let's give him a round of applause. 👏🏻

The BBC channels the spirit of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels while discussing why the West Midlands police chief had to go. Or maybe it's the fact that the Israeli fans love a good genocidal chant at away games, like "Why are the schools closed in Gaza? Because there are no children left", and "Death to the Arabs!" Or it could have been because these fans have a tendency to go around attacking anyone who looks like an Arab or Muslim. That could have proved quite threatening, I guess, in a multicultural city like Birmingham. And then there's the fact that the Israeli branch of the anti-racism organisation Kick It Out found Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were the most aggressively racist of all the Israeli premier clubs – in a very crowded field. As for your second question, Daniel, who are these "noisy anti-Israel campaigners" you're referring to? Do you mean the millions of Britons who have peacefully opposed Israel's genocide? Is being anti-genocide the same as being anti-Israel? And if so, does that mean you're saying Israel is an inherently genocidal state? Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe it's not complicated. Maybe you just see your job as unthinkingly reciting whatever those in power tell you is true.

I think it's fair to say that Nigel Farage's return to the media round yesterday morning was an unmitigated catastrophe. When he began his defence to Sally Nugent on the BBC, he repeated his mantra “no one cares” to her three times. He could not have been further from the truth. With the exception of Ed Balls on ITV, the UK's interviewers finally found their backbones and took him to task over the five million pound bung/gift/donation. Immediately taking the über-defensive stance, he made so many different claims, that even Julia Hartley-Brewer and Nick Ferrari got in on the anti-Farage action. I assume there is a Grimm fairy tale that highlights the plight of a little boy that changes his story so many times that he can't remember his own truth. Probably in that tale, he'll be eaten by a witch living in a giant flying bowl of some sort — and no, this is not an allegorical allusion to Hartley-Brewer, before you @ me! Farage is that little boy. Talking to Sally Nugent, he told her that the money was an unconditional gift and it was none of her business what he spent it on, before saying he'd not spent it. Going on, he told us that he needed it for a lifetime of security while on Nick Ferrari's show, he got so muddled up that he said it was definitely not used for a house purchase but ... maybe, and even if it were, he'd not tell anyone. Oh, and he said he might have put it on the horses or bought some Ferraris. The root of his story began when he told the world that it was an unconditional gift, but within days the official line had changed to a donation to cover a 'lifetime of security'. Only for it to morph again the following week into a gift for his work achieving Brexit. Yesterday he trotted out all of these lines and more so you can see where the conspiracy stems from and why it won't be dropped any time soon. And I'm sorry Nigel, we do care, absolutely everyone cares. If you missed the relevant interview, here's the 3:45 when Sally Nugent instigated the end of Nigel Farage's career. Bravo.

This is such a difficult watch ☹️ Amanda Abbington, "I have a 30 page report.. Nearly half of the allegations were upheld" "What's being said in the tabloids is just not true.. Sexual gestures.. A 35 min rant at me calling me names.. This went on for 7 hours a day for 7 weeks.. I was called mad.. Unstable" VD, "How did you respond?" AA, "I'm open to criticism.. I've worked 32 years as an actress and I've never had to leave a job or experience anything like I experienced in that rehearsal room.. I not only did it for myself but for the contestants partnered with his previously.. I wasn't the only person that complained" "When you're constantly told that you're not good enough and you're going to make a fool of yourself.. I don't respond well to that sort of teaching" VD, "Papers reported there was a crotch incident" AA, "There were two allegations of inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature and they were upheld.. One was physical.. One was verbal" "When I got a dance step right, he would outline an erection in his trousers and tell me my dance move made that happen" "They weren't isolated one off incidents.. I’m not gunna lie…. THIS SUCKED!!! This Saturday I’m attempting to break a World Record and take my JustGiving page to £1,000,000 for REORG Charity. Normally I’d have some sort of training program I would have stuck to in the run up to such an event, but I’ve been travelling so much for work it hasn’t been easy so this morning was my first training session. The idea is to pull a truck 100m which I found out this morning is much harder than I had anticipated. It’s also extremely difficult to find completely flat ground but as always we did what we could with what we had. Throw into the mix that I have surgery tomorrow and it’s gunna be a hectic week, however…. the mission remains. There are men and women out there from the Military and Emergency Services who need what REORG offers so I’ll suck it up and crack on regardless. I’d appreciate and help you could give me with spreading the word and sharing the challenge. Listen to the journalist saying we cannot find him to scrutinise him, but you had Reform on BBC and Sky News nearly every day up until the May election and you never scrutinised them once. Now Reform are hiding because they know they cannot really get out of the scrutiny waiting for them, and the MSM are acting like it is not their fault because they cannot track them down. This is the same party that was holding a conference nearly every month, so do not tell us you suddenly cannot find them. If you had scrutinised the leader properly about his lame excuses for not holding surgeries on Fridays, maybe you would know where to find him, because most MPs can be found at their surgeries on Fridays. Journalists are taking us for jokes because last I checked Beth Rigby was at every stunt they held and there was no real scrutiny, now very convenient you cannot find them to ask questions. It feels like part of the ploy to let it die down so you can go back to being the Reform channel again. Has anyone noticed how Reform, Zia, Tice and whoever else they could get were on TV every single day and on every Question Time, but now no conference, no real appearances, not a whiff of them, just some lame Jenrick trying his best to keep their momentum going. So this is what to expect from the new PM in waiting, as the mainstream media has been telling us for the last year, when it comes to scrutiny he will be nowhere to be found. This is BS. You heard the public and viewers asking why are they on TV so much with no proper scrutiny and no challenge, yet you carried on.
